Job description

Position Summary:

The Associate Service Depot / Repair Technician supports the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, refurbishment, and maintenance of surgical equipment, powered medical devices, and associated equipment supporting in - house operations and customer use. This role operates within the Memphis-based Global Distribution Hub, ensuring compliance with company quality standards, FDA regulations, and ISO requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic medical devices, consoles, and powered surgical equipment

  • Perform component-level repair, replacement, soldering, wiring, and bench testing activities

  • Inspect returned devices for electrical, mechanical, and functional failures

  • Execute functional verification and quality testing following repair activities

  • Support returned material authorization (RMA) processing including receiving, diagnosis, documentation, and repair tracking

  • Maintain accurate repair records, failure analysis documentation, and inventory transactions within ERP or tracking systems

  • Assist with depot-level refurbishment and rework activities for field-returned devices

  • Support technical troubleshooting requests from field service and operations teams

  • Perform firmware/software loading, configuration, and validation when required

  • Follow FDA, ISO 13485, ESD, and internal quality system requirements

  • Maintain clean, organized, and compliant repair workstations and technical areas

  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies

  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role

  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical role with a robotics background preferred

  • GMP and ISO knowledge required

  • Personal computer proficiency with MS Office is required

  • Must have strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to function in a fast-paced operations and repair environment supporting field inventory, loaner systems, and depot repair activities

  • Must be able to make solid decisions that effectively support the business and company policies

  • Experience with troubleshooting, loading and testing computers a plus

  • Services experience (e.g., Clinical Services/Biomed, Radiology) and understand healthcare capital equipment.

  • Knowledge of quality and/or reliability engineering is a plus

Travel and/or Physical Requirements:
  • Required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

  • Required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

  • Required to possess specific visons abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and capacity to adjust focus
