Student Worker - DOVE Service Learning - 2026/27

JOB SUMMARY
Work studies are the connection between the Division of Volunteer Efforts (DOVE) Service Learning Team and the student population at Seton Hall. They are responsible for coordinating weekly programs through DOVE, as well as completing in-office work that will foster our programs and our relationship with outside agencies and our Catholic mission.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Take on the role as program coordinator for at least two weekly programs. The student must serve as a leader, supervising student groups of 5-20 volunteers alongside DOVE's Service-Learning community partners
  • Lead reflection after service programs
  • Be present for mandatory workdays and scheduled office hours in addition to the scheduled weekly programs
  • Represent the DOVE Service Learning program at a variety of community service sites & attend open houses/promotional events on behalf of the DOVE office
  • Be a welcoming presence to all office visitors, answer office phones, take messages, send emails to volunteers
  • Keep office clean and organized, move & sort donations as needed
  • Post publicity for upcoming events and be attentive regarding all PR for the DOVE Service Learning program (the Setonian, flyers, broadcast emails, etc.)
  • Recruit students for volunteer programs
  • Be involved in the planning of some of DOVE's larger scale events

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
This position is only available to undergraduate students at Seton Hall University who are federal work study eligible.
Professional attitude, good written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, ability to stay self-motivated, and leadership skills to supervise peers are required.
Competency in Microsoft Office Apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
Ability to commit to a consistent schedule.
Experience with community outreach and volunteerism.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred experience in Journey of Transformation or Christianity and Culture in Dialogue Service Lab class or other service learning classes. Ability to drive volunteers in 12-passenger van as needed
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Must be able to lead service programs in-person in the community
