Job Description

We are currently seeking a Learning Environment Specialist to join our Product Services team. In this role, you will support schools across the country as they create learning environments filled with furniture and materials that serve a wide range of learners. The position also requires employing education expertise to create 2-D and 3-D drawings of environments that align with curriculum, licensing and other essential standards. Applicants should have exceptional attention to detail, creative problem-solving skills and a goal-orientated approach to designing ideal spaces for learning and development. The ideal candidate possesses thorough knowledge of early learning and K–12 standards and curricula.

A day on the job looks like this:

  • Reviewing requests for education spaces—including reading and interpreting blueprints, developing plans based on student enrollment and selecting furniture that meets aesthetic and functional needs
  • Creating drawings, renderings and other design deliverables that clearly communicate design intent 
  • Performing in-depth product selection for indoor and outdoor classroom environments, including desks, tables, chairs, storage units, carpets, supplemental learning materials and other essential assets
  • Partnering with colleagues to present Lakeshore’s vision to educators and administrators while thoughtfully addressing questions and concerns
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
  • 5+ years of classroom experience or exposure to curriculum development
  • Strong design sensibilities are a plus
  • Sharp creative and spatial problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Lakeshore product lines for early learning/K–12 settings is a plus
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced setting
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
  • Customer-service orientation and a collaborative approach to work
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat Reader; comfortable learning new technology; working knowledge of design/specification software like CAP/CET Designer is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

At Lakeshore, we pay local market wages for employees that reside within Los Angeles and Orange Counties. For employees residing outside of Los Angeles and Orange Counties, pay is based on national market.

For this position, new employees joining Lakeshore are typically brought into the organization at an hourly rate between $29.56- $39.90 depending on relevant experience & skillset.

This range is indicative of projected hiring range. The annual base compensation will take into account each candidate's relevant experience, location, and skillset.
