HVAC Technician responsibilities

  • Conducting routine maintenance on heating and cooling systems.
  • Diagnosing and repairing malfunctioning equipment, such as refrigeration systems, air conditioning units, and heating pumps.
  • Accurately document failures and recommended repairs for home warranty claims
  • Communicate with home warranty companies to explain diagnoses and secure repair approvals
  • Provide clear, professional explanations to homeowners
  • Complete work orders, photos, and paperwork in a timely manner
  • Performing installations of new heating and cooling systems.
  • Maintaining accurate records of equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting issues with electrical and mechanical components of HVAC systems.
  • Collaborating with team members and management to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Adhering to safety procedures and guidelines while on job sites.
  • Timely completion of work orders.

Requirements

  • Must be a EPA 608 Certified & Valid (Type II & III OR Universal) HVAC technician with a minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Knowledge of heating and cooling systems, including refrigeration systems, air conditioning units, and heating pumps
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical components of HVAC systems
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Willingness to continue education and training to stay current with industry developments and advancements
