Healthcare Information Security amp; Technology Manager

Reports To: Director of Operations

Position Summary

Behavioral Health Clinic (BHC) is seeking an experienced Information Technology amp; Information Security Manager to lead the organization's technology infrastructure, cybersecurity program, and healthcare information security strategy. This position is responsible for safeguarding BHC's information systems, electronic protected health information (ePHI), and technology assets while ensuring reliable, secure, and compliant IT operations across multiple clinic locations.

The IT amp; Information Security Manager serves as the organization's technology and cybersecurity leader, overseeing infrastructure, network security, HIPAA Security Rule compliance, risk management, disaster recovery, vendor oversight, and strategic technology initiatives. This role works closely with executive leadership, department managers, and third-party technology partners to build a secure technology environment that supports high-quality patient care while protecting sensitive healthcare information.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Director of Operations in developing and implementing the organization's technology roadmap.
  • Oversee all IT operations across multiple clinic locations, ensuring reliable and secure technology services.
  • Manage and maintain all computer systems, servers, networks, internet connectivity, phones, printers, and related technology infrastructure.
  • Coordinate cybersecurity initiatives with external IT vendors and managed service providers, including endpoint protection, vulnerability management, phishing prevention, and security awareness training.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA Security Rule requirements and other applicable healthcare technology regulations.
  • Oversee user account management, permissions, and identity access management across all technology platforms.
  • Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems and coordinate with vendors regarding upgrades, maintenance, integrations, and issue resolution.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute technology projects including software implementations, hardware replacements, office expansions, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Maintain and support disaster recovery procedures and business continuity documentation related to information technology.
  • Monitor system performance, proactively identify risks, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Manage relationships with external IT vendors, software providers, telecommunications companies, and managed service providers.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend practical solutions that improve operational efficiency and end-user experience.
  • Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Oversee software licensing and technology asset management.
  • Assist with annual IT budgeting, technology purchasing, and technology lifecycle planning.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the IT department, including supervising IT staff, assigning and prioritizing work, conducting performance evaluations, providing coaching and mentoring, and ensuring the team delivers responsive, high-quality technology support and services.
  • Coordinate the work of IT vendors, contractors, and support personnel to ensure timely completion of technology initiatives.
  • Establish service level expectations and monitor help desk performance.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes by ensuring timely technology provisioning and deprovisioning.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to understand operational needs and recommend technology solutions.
  • Support technology needs for new clinic openings, office relocations, and organizational growth initiatives.
  • Maintain inventory of all technology assets across the organization.
  • Provide regular technology updates and project status reports to leadership.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, cybersecurity threats, healthcare technology regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the CEOs or Director of Operations.
Qualifications:
  • Three or more years of Healthcare IT experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting multi-site organizations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Google, Windows environments, networking, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and endpoint management.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA Security Rule requirements and healthcare compliance standards.
  • Experience managing IT vendors and technology contracts.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and respond effectively to changing business needs.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to lead teams while maintaining a customer-service mindset.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required.
  • Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Information Systems, or Healthcare Administration preferred.
Certifications

One or more of the following certifications is strongly preferred. Candidates with multiple certifications are highly desirable.
