POSITION TITLE:
Driver Type 3
STATUS:
Non-Exempt
LOCATION:
Food Solutions International
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Drivers Department Manager or supervisor, this position is primarily responsible for delivering all orders on a timely basis as determined by customer needs and company scheduling.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
  1. Locate products at the bakery, check products against the invoice to ensure the correct item is going to the customer, and load the truck in proper sequence.
  2. Check orders and short sheets for any missing items. Check with the Bakery Manager and Delivery Manager for any last minute instructions.
  3. Deliver items to the proper customer, getting the invoice signed, and checking that the delivery is correct.
  4. Rotate merchandise, write up credit invoices when applicable for retail customers.
  5. Responsible for properly maintaining the truck or van's air pressure in its tires, and filling the gas, oil, and water to proper levels.
  6. Check tire wear daily. Check items that need service or repair on a daily basis.
  7. Properly fill out pre and post trip vehicle checklists.
  8. Keeps vehicle interior and exterior clean and sanitized. Washing vehicle exterior on a regular basis
  9. Report any problems to the Delivery Manager or an immediate supervisor.

OTHER FUNCTIONS :
  1. Other duties may include helping the CDL drivers load, deliver and unload, on special occasions when the deliveries to the Zippy's units are large.

QUALIFICATIONS :
Scheduling:
  • Available for work on Monday through Sunday, 12 Midnight to 8:30 am AM. Schedule may vary.
  • Available to work on all holidays

Physical Ability:
  • Must be in good physical shape to lift 40 - 50 lbs., and push rack of products up to 200 - 300 lbs

Mental Ability:
  • Must be able to reason and use common sense
  • Simple math calculation
  • Must be able to read and understand traffic laws, road signage, and military base regulations

Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Must pass pre-employment physical and drug-screening
  • Must also have passed a TB test Dated/Issued within 12 months of date of hire OR Dated/Issued at the age of 16 or older.
  • Fully Vaccination with the Covid-19 vaccine is preferred

Environmental Conditions:
  • Work to be performed both indoors and outdoors.

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
  • Company will provide training
  • Operating and maintaining a 15,000 lbs GVW truck or less
