Job description

Redwood Credit Union is seeking an Investment Representative who will be focused on virtual channels such as the Member Service Center [MSC], online communications, “house” accounts and other non-in-person channels, serve team members, Member-clients, and Member-prospects by assessing their financial goals, needs, and objectives and providing them with exceptional personalized service and investment products.
 
Key Responsibilities
o Identify and evaluate Member and team member needs for financial services, assess the objectives and goals of the individual, and develop an investment strategy to implement.
o Proactively market and support all aspects assigned.
o Identify and develop relationships with Wholesalers.
o Identify and develop relationships with assigned departments and/or teams.
o Keep current on investment products and services offered.
o Identify and refer Members requiring in-person or more complex services to the appropriate Advisors.
o Follow through on the service and sales goals set forth by the Investment Program.
o Provide regular feedback to the branch team members, identified credit union executives and sales managers regarding sales practices and business development initiatives.
o Provide excellent Member service.
o Periodically virtually meet with Members and/or clients to review and update needs ensuring investment objectives and goals are progressing according to plan. Meetings to take place either monthly, quarterly and/or yearly depending on client needs established by Representative.
o Ensure inbound phone calls, orders/transactions, and service that requires licensing is completed.
o Provide basic financial planning for Members virtually, as needed.
o Address and solve business-related challenges as needed.
o Work with Managers to identify and leverage cross-sell opportunities.
o Support investment and credit union integration initiatives, e.g., deposit calling efforts, call nights, branch training, etc.
o Support all product and campaign launches.

Minimum Qualification: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must possess basic investment knowledge.
  • Ability to follow the rules and regulations set forth by the credit union, FINRA, SEC and the broker/dealer.
  • Exceptional service and sales skills, ability to independently utilize judgment, and make sound business decisions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, with strong presentation skills utilizing video and phone.
  • Ability to critically think, analyze situations, and solve problems.
  • Ability to distinguish and manage confidential information, materials, and conversations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and software including word processing, email, and intra/internet.
Licenses and Certifications
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 required. Ability to obtain a Series 66 or 65.
  • State Life and Health Insurances licenses required.
The ideal candidate has a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree, plus a minimum of one years’ financial industry experience. Previous experience working in credit union or community bank preferred.
 
Compensation: Base starting range: $39.00 to $52.00 hourly commensurate with experience.
Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
