Position Summary


This is an ONSITE position located in Washington, D.C.


NCC is seeking a Telecom Engineer/Analyst to support and optimize an enterprise unified communications environment. This role will focus primarily on Microsoft Teams Voice and Direct Routing while also supporting Avaya telephony platforms, enterprise VoIP infrastructure, and legacy telecommunications services.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams Voice, Avaya telephony systems, and troubleshooting complex enterprise voice and call-quality issues.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for Microsoft Teams Phone, Direct Routing, Avaya telephony, and enterprise unified communications services.
  • Design, configure, and maintain Teams Voice solutions, including dial plans, voice policies, auto attendants, call queues, and call-routing configurations.
  • Troubleshoot call-quality, call-routing, carrier-connectivity, and voice-service issues; perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Administer Avaya Communication Manager, System Manager, Session Manager, AVP, AES, WFO, and CDR solutions.
  • Manage supporting virtual servers, VMware ESXi hosts, and Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Support legacy telecommunications services, including analog and digital lines, PSTN connectivity, and voice trunks.
  • Collaborate with telecommunications carriers, Microsoft, and third-party vendors to maintain service availability and performance.
  • Monitor system health and performance indicators to identify service degradation, operational gaps, vulnerabilities, and infrastructure risks.
  • Perform system maintenance, configuration changes, upgrades, testing, vulnerability remediation, and platform enhancements.
  • Maintain technical documentation, system configuration records, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Participate in shift work and after-hours call-in support as needed to meet customer SLAs in a 24/7/365 environment.


Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (must be able to pass a Credit Check and Criminal Background Check).
  • 8+ years of hands-on Avaya experience in an enterprise telecommunications environment.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams Voice, Teams Phone, and Direct Routing.
  • Experience configuring Teams dial plans, voice policies, auto attendants, call queues, and call routing.
  • Experience providing Tier 2 or Tier 3 support for enterprise VoIP or unified communications environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Avaya Communication Manager 7.x or later.
  • Hands-on experience with Avaya System Manager and Session Manager 7.1 or later.
  • Experience with AVP, AES, WFO, and CDR.
  • Experience administering VMware ESXi, virtual servers, and Windows or Linux server environments.
  • Knowledge of enterprise call routing, carrier services, PSTN connectivity, and voice-quality troubleshooting.
  • Ability to participate in shift work or after-hours support within a 24/7/365 operational environment.
