Job description

As a server assistant, you are responsible for assisting the servers in nearly all of their functions and duties. Your primary role will be the clearing, cleaning, and resetting of tables, but you will also be responsible for assisting the servers in tasks such as running food. You will also be expected to assist with general restaurant duties including restroom checks, floor cleanliness and garbage runs. Just like a server, we depend on you to provide fun, energetic, and personalized service to our guests. In order to be a successful server assistant, you must be able to work quickly and efficiently while genuinely caring for your guests and their needs. You must be knowledgeable of our food and beverages, and you must consistently work to develop and increase this knowledge.

  • Assist with ensuring all guests receive a superior dining experience.
  • Turn tables as quickly as possible. Our goal is to clear, clean, sanitize, and reset a table in 45 seconds from the time it becomes vacant.
  • Assist with running food.
  • Have a good knowledge of the menu and an excellent knowledge of the floor plan.
  • Assist other employees whenever possible. TEAMWORK!
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the dining areas, bar, wait stations, parking lot, patio, and restrooms.
  • Have a full awareness of all necessary stocking at the wait stations and the bar (glasses, ice bins, side plates, silverware, etc.)
  • Have a full awareness of all back-up supplies.
  • Serve all guests with interest, speed, and attention to detail according to Taste Buds Management's service standards.
  • Complete all assigned opening, running, shift change and closing duties (side work).
  • Empty and reline trash cans as necessary.
  • Replace linen bags as necessary.
  • Be prepared to supply guests with information about your restaurant and the company.
  • All opening, running, shift change and closing side work must be checked by a manager or shift leader.
  • Never complain about the guests.
  • Never discuss tips or tip share.
  • Be professional, it takes skill and understanding

Education and / or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
