Job description

Trace Services is now actively hiring for an experienced electrician in the Jackson, MS and Hattiesburg, MS area.

Evidence ofJourneyman Lineman CertificationisREQUIRED.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Electrician Duties & Responsibilities will include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Operates line truck; sets, straightens, and stubs poles; installs cross arms, pins, insulators, conductors, transformers, outdoor lighting, and related hardware and equipment.
  • Installs new service lines; disconnects service, installs temporary service lines, repairs service lines; installs meters.
  • Installs and maintains underground distribution facilities and equipment.
  • Inspects transformers, poles, and lines; repairs lines; troubleshoots power outages; identifies problems and plans repairs.
  • Paints transformers and steel electrical towers.
  • Prepares field reports and material lists.
  • Cleans vehicles, equipment, warehouse, and work area.

Other Duties:

  • Loads and unloads equipment and materials on/from vehicles.
  • Repairs traffic, street, and security lights as needed, programs traffic light controllers.
  • Performs related work as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Provides work direction to Apprentice Linemen, Groundsmen and other assigned employees as needed. Supervisory responsibilities are performed in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training and assigning and directing work.
