Responsibilities of a Diesel Service Apprentice entail:

  • Shadow and assist experienced diesel technicians, learning fundamental repair and maintenance techniques.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, fluid checks, and component replacements under supervision.
  • Perform pre-delivery inspections on vehicles or equipment to ensure readiness.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring proper tool care and safety procedures.
  • Participate in training programs and workshops to develop knowledge of diesel systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
  • Assist with recordkeeping and documentation of work performed.

Requirements:

The requirements to be a Diesel Service Apprentice for CIT Trucks, LLC include:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and DOT medical card
  • Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 120 pounds
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Maintain professional appearance and attitude
  • Willingness and ability to complete training in a timely manner
