Server Assistant

Department: Food & Beverage 

Reports To: Dining Services Manager 

Schedule: Full-Time, year-round 

Availability Requirement: Must be available to work weekends and holidays during peak season (May–September) Compensation: Starts at $19/hour; based on experience

Position Overview

Burning Tree Country Club is seeking a professional, service-oriented, and values-driven Server Assistant to support our Food & Beverage team across our à la carte dining outlets, including The Grille Room, Founders Bar, Patio, and Salons.

This position plays a vital role in delivering exceptional Member and guest experiences by ensuring the dining room operates smoothly and efficiently, in accordance with established service standards. Server Assistants work closely with servers, runners, and management to maintain cleanliness, organization, and attentive service throughout each shift.

Through teamwork, consistency, and attention to detail, the Server Assistant contributes to the warm, professional atmosphere that defines Burning Tree Country Club.

The Essentials (Core Responsibilities)

Dining Room Preparation & Support

  • Set dining room tables according to Club standards and reservation needs
  • Complete side work duties, including stocking silverware, glassware, and linens
  • Polish glassware, china, and flatware
  • Refill condiment containers and maintain station readiness
  • Fold napkins and reset tables according to service standards

Service Support

  • Provide water service and monitor beverage levels
  • Assist servers with clearing courses and special requests
  • Support drink service when necessary
  • Communicate table needs and guest requests to servers
  • Continuously monitor tables to assist with clearing and resetting
  • Maintain proper clearing techniques according to Club etiquette standards

Sanitation & Organization

  • Organize and separate bussed dishes properly to avoid breakage
  • Sort silverware, glassware, and china in dish area correctly
  • Clean and sanitize tables and chairs before resetting
  • Maintain cleanliness of service stands and work areas
  • Complete supply requisitions with management approval

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
