Position Description: Job Title: Host
Location: RosaliaReports to: Floor Manager / General Manager
Hourly Rate: $16.37 - $18.00 per hour
Position Summary:
Hosts are the first impression of the restaurant, setting the tone for each guest’s experience. With warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism, the Host ensures that every guest feels welcome and taken care of. This role manages the flow of service, including reservations, walk-ins, and guest communications, while supporting the overall cleanliness and organization of the dining room and entryway.
Key Responsibilities:Arrive on time and in uniform
Answer incoming calls, manage reservations, and respond to guest inquiries
Check and return voicemails promptly
Confirm reservations for the current day’s service
Strategically manage the reservation book to optimize table turns and capacity
Add and update server sections in Resy
Review all guest notes prior to service and accommodate special requests when possible
Print and distribute guest notes to servers, expo, and managers
Warmly greet and seat guests; acknowledge VIP (PPX) and repeat visitors
Manage walk-in flow and waitlist with clear communication to guests and managers
Monitor table statuses in Resy throughout the shift
Communicate seating delays and guest needs to management
Notify servers of section changes and new table assignments
Assist with curbside pickup and to-go orders, including bagging and delivery to vehicles
Support table resets and clearing during busy shifts
Maintain a clean, organized host stand and guest entry area
Check restrooms throughout service; restock supplies as needed
Take out trash at the host stand at the end of shift
Participate in weekly cleaning duties assigned to the host team
Schedule Expectations:
This is an hourly position with consistent evening and weekend availability required. Hosts are expected to work scheduled shifts, including some closings, and remain flexible to meet the needs of service.
Qualifications & Expectations:
Ability to remain calm and clear-thinking in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Familiarity with Resy or similar reservation systems
Working knowledge of the restaurant’s food and beverage offerings
Comfort with POS systems and basic order entry for to-go service
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Professional, friendly, and warm guest demeanor
Genuine interest in hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences
