Server/Bartender
POSITION SUMMARY
At Barrel One Collective, our Servers and Bartenders are at the heart of our guest experience-whether it's crafting the perfect pint, pairing food with our beers, or providing warm, friendly service that keeps people coming back. This hybrid position allows for flexibility to perform either function depending on shift assignments and business needs.
Servers and Bartenders are expected to be energetic, professional, and committed to delivering high-quality food and beverage service in a busy, beer-forward restaurant and brewery setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Service & Hospitality
  • Provide attentive, enthusiastic, and timely service to all guests
  • Greet customers warmly and be proactive in creating a welcoming environment
  • Answer menu and beer-related questions, make recommendations, and upsell appropriately
  • Accurately take and input food and drink orders using the POS system (Toast)
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly and ensure orders are correct
  • Address and resolve guest concerns with professionalism and empathy

Bartending Duties
  • Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Check guest identification to ensure legal drinking age
  • Maintain bar cleanliness, setup, and inventory
  • Restock bar supplies and rotate stock as needed
  • Maintain accurate cash drawer and close out with minimal discrepancies

Server Duties
  • Manage section efficiently, taking orders and coordinating with kitchen staff
  • Set, reset, and clean tables and dining areas throughout shift
  • Run food and assist in expo line operations as needed
  • Support hosts, other servers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth flow of service
  • Accurately process payments and maintain organized billing

Teamwork & Communication
  • Collaborate closely with front- and back-of-house staff for seamless service
  • Attend and participate in pre-shift meetings and ongoing staff trainings
  • Communicate issues, guest feedback, or unusual occurrences to management

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly and maneuver kegs up to 150 lbs with team support
  • Stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift
  • Perform physical motions such as bending, stooping, balancing, and reaching
  • Work in varied conditions: outdoor patio service, kitchen areas exceeding 90ยฐF, walk-in coolers at 36ยฐF

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • TIPS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Minimum of 1 year restaurant or hospitality experience preferred (but not required)
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with beer styles, basic mixology, and food pairing concepts
  • Proficient with POS systems and basic math
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
