Maintenance Technician-Days

We are seeking a dependable, safety-conscious Maintenance Technician to support our operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment critical to wire and cable production, including wire drawing, bunching, extrusion, and jacketing lines. Ideal candidates will have both mechanical and electrical maintenance skills and a strong sense of responsibility in a safety-sensitive environment.
Essential Job Functions
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on wire and cable production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Support production by ensuring minimal equipment downtime and fast response to breakdowns.
• Diagnose faults using schematics, PLC interfaces, multimeters, and control systems.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and safety improvements.
• Maintain accurate logs, work orders, and documentation.
• Follow safety procedures and support a clean and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with other departments, including production and engineering, to resolve issues efficiently.
Work Environment
The essential functions of this job require working within a production facility with exposure to various noise levels from machinery and equipment.
Physical Demands
This is an active role as the employee will work in a manufacturing environment. While performing the essential functions of the job the employee will be required to stand, balance or walk on a consistent basis during a 12-hour shift and may on a frequent basis be required to twist, turn, stoop, squat, kneel, bend or reach. The employee must use safe lifting techniques when lifting objects up to 50 pounds and carry out repetitive hand/wrist movements to include forearm rotation. Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to listen and speak and use their hands to maintain equipment.
Work Schedule
Our facility operates 24/7. Qualified candidates must be able to work a flexible/rotating work schedule, including weekends, and cover overtime as needed. Day shift hours are 5a to 5p EST.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance (wire and cable industry experience is a plus).
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial electricity, motor controls, and PLC basics.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Experience with troubleshooting extrusion or wire drawing equipment is highly desirable.
  • Must be comfortable working a rotating shift including working every other weekend.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
