About the Role

Express Employment Professionals is seekingskilled Maintenance Techniciansfor a heavy manufacturing facility inNorth Kansas City, MO. This position plays a critical role in ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently by performing electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates with strongelectrical and mechanical troubleshooting experiencein a manufacturing environment and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Available Shifts

(All shifts available – hours may vary based on production needs)

Key Responsibilities
  • Performelectrical and mechanical maintenanceon production equipment while following all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout.

  • Troubleshoot and repairhydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, PLC, and mechanical systems.

  • Performbreakdown repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment changeovers.

  • Verify guards and safety devices are properly installed before returning equipment to operation.

  • Read and interpretblueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

  • Observe equipment in operation and useprecision measuring toolsto diagnose issues.

  • Fabricate repair parts usingmachine shop tools and equipment.

  • Maintain and track work orders through aComputerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Monitor inventory levels for maintenance parts and supplies.

  • Operatepowered industrial trucks, overhead cranes, and portable cranesas needed.

  • Identify and escalatesafety, quality, or operational concerns.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance withOSHA standards.

  • Supportcontinuous improvement initiativesand team-based problem-solving.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of maintenance experiencein a heavy manufacturing environment.

  • Strong experience withhydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and PLC troubleshooting.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Apprenticeship, journeyman training, military service, or equivalent mechanical/electrical trainingpreferred.

  • Proficiency withhand tools, power tools, micrometers, calipers, and technical drawings.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and perform basic math calculations.

  • Ability to passjob-related testing, physical exam, and post-offer drug screen.

  • Strong commitment tosafety and teamwork.

  • Experience with the following machines/ robots (preferred, but not required): Toshiba, Nissei, Battenfeld, Welltec, Engel, Robots: Wittman, and Sepro.

Physical Requirements
  • Lift and/or moveup to 50 pounds regularly.

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Bend, twist, kneel, stoop, crawl, and reach as required.

  • Perform other physical duties as necessary.
