Sentry seeks a Commercial Counsel to join its legal team, supporting the company's mission to help developers fix errors and performance issues before users notice. Trusted by over 200,000 organizations, Sentry is building the future of application monitoring with AI at its core.
The Commercial Counsel will structure, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer, channel partner, technology supplier, and marketing contracts. This role partners closely with sales, customer success, security, compliance, finance, and marketing to ensure efficient and effective legal support for commercial transactions. The position also provides strategic legal and business advice on commercial, regulatory, data protection, and intellectual property matters, and explores opportunities to leverage AI to scale legal processes.
Ideal candidates bring 3-5 years of relevant legal experience, including at least 2 years focused on technology transactions, a deep understanding of cloud and software technology, and a proven ability to balance legal protections with business velocity. Strong communication, negotiation skills, and a collaborative approach are essential, as is the ability to explain complex contract provisions to internal partners. A J.D. from an accredited law school and California bar membership are required.
