Job description

Full Stack Quant Developer & Product Lead – Boston Area

We are seeking a Full Stack Quant Developer with product ownership responsibilities to join a fast-expanding team based in the Boston region.

Our group consists of engineers, researchers, and traders who work closely together to apply advanced data-driven methods in identifying opportunities across global financial markets, including equities, derivatives, and futures. The team operates with a practical, engineering-focused mindset, emphasizing both strong outcomes and sound implementation. Collaboration is central to how we work, with ideas often emerging from interactions across different areas of expertise. We continuously evaluate and refine our processes to strengthen our systems and support long-term success.

This position provides an opportunity to take meaningful ownership of a core research platform that supports the productivity of the broader team. You will work closely with researchers, developers, and investment professionals to define and build tools that enhance research efficiency and scalability. The role also offers exposure to quantitative analysis and financial markets. Your contributions will directly influence both internal workflows and overall trading performance.

We are looking for experienced full stack developers who have demonstrated creativity, initiative, and strong execution in their previous work.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Quantitative Engineering:
  2. Collaborate closely with developers, researchers, and portfolio managers as part of the quantitative development function.
  3. Platform Engineering:
  4. Contribute to the design and enhancement of an internal research platform, including interfaces for simulation tools, analytics systems, and modeling environments.
  5. Full Stack Development:
  6. Build and maintain modern web applications that support research workflows. Develop intuitive front-end interfaces using frameworks such as React or similar technologies, while ensuring robust and scalable backend services through well-designed APIs.
  7. Product Leadership:
  8. Participate in shaping the direction of the research platform by translating business needs into technical solutions. Gather user feedback and iterate on features to improve usability and effectiveness.
  9. Interface & Experience Design:
  10. Create and refine user experiences through wireframes, prototypes, and design systems using tools like Figma or similar. Help ensure consistency and usability across applications.
  11. Engineering Best Practices:
  12. Write, test, and deploy high-quality code using modern development workflows, including CI/CD pipelines and container-based environments. Support automated testing and system reliability.
  13. Research Infrastructure:
  14. Develop tools that support data analysis, modeling, simulation, and execution workflows used by the research team.
Qualifications
  1. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline
  2. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment
  3. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate ideas clearly
  4. Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java
  5. Experience with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, Angular, or similar)
  6. Familiarity with Unix/Linux-based systems
  7. Understanding of software architecture and scalable system design
  8. Experience with product thinking and UI/UX design tools (e.g., Figma or equivalent)
  9. Knowledge of database systems (both relational and non-relational)
  10. Exposure to containerization, build pipelines, and deployment workflows is beneficial
  11. Experience writing and maintaining automated tests across multiple languages
