We are currently seeking to add a Senior Civil Engineer to our dynamic team in Vancouver, Washington.

Apex Companies LLC is seeking a highly motivated Senior Civil Engineer with experience leading the design and project management of local agency and/or state transportation projects, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects from planning through construction. In addition to strong technical expertise, we are looking for a candidate who enjoys supporting marketing and proposal pursuits, engaging directly with clients, and building trusted relationships that lead to repeat business.

This role offers the opportunity to step into an established transportation practice, partnering closely with our Vancouver office leadership and multidisciplinary team to grow our presence throughout Southwest Washington. You'll play an active role in winning new work while delivering exceptional projects for both existing and new clients, with the support of experienced leaders and a collaborative team.

This position serves a diverse portfolio of transportation and infrastructure clients across both the public and private sectors, with a strong emphasis on local agency and state transportation projects. Our teams specialize in delivering multidisciplinary projects that leverage the full breadth of Apex's engineering and environmental services, along with trusted strategic subconsultant partners. Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as senior technical lead on cumulative project total >$750K annually.
  • Contribute to successful business development of >$250K annually.
  • Estimate and budget labor hours for design projects; review job costing reports and take corrective action, as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain client relationships; ensure client satisfaction and ensure that client objectives are met.
  • Participate in business development opportunities.
  • Participate in professional organizations and functions.
What we are looking for
  • 8+ years of experience as a consulting engineer providing design and project management of local agency or state transportation projects
  • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and professional registration (P.E) in Washington and/or Oregon
  • A solid understanding of civil design and construction standards, and environmental conditions / constraints.
  • A proven history of meeting project timelines and budgets.
  • Demonstrated skills developing relationships with local municipalities and utilities
  • Familiarity with local code requirements
  • Ability to develop creative engineering solutions to address project constraints
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff and management.
  • Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads, HydroCAD, WWHM2012

Annual Expected Pay Range: $125,000 - $140,000 USD
