This position offers the opportunity to combine strategic leadership with hands-on engineering in a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on continuous improvement, operational excellence, and reducing Cost of Quality (COQ).
This role primarily supports operations in Decatur, Alabama, with additional support for sites in Louisville, Kentucky and Selmer, Tennessee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead qualification activities for new tooling, equipment, and manufacturing processes while becoming the subject matter expert for assigned operations
  • Develop and execute equipment qualification plans in partnership with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) teams and equipment suppliers
  • Travel to supplier and OEM sites for planning meetings, equipment runoffs, and production builds to ensure readiness before shipment
  • Drive gage development activities, including design reviews, inspection strategies, and cross-functional approvals
  • Facilitate dimensional analysis reviews and partner with engineering teams to resolve measurement and capability concerns

  • Lead PPAP activities for newly introduced parts, assemblies, and manufacturing processes
  • Develop traceability and error-proofing solutions including vision systems, line interlocks, genealogy systems, and poka-yoke methods
  • Partner with manufacturing teams to create standard work, quality checkpoints, and control documentation
  • Lead cross-functional PFMEA activities to identify and mitigate manufacturing and process risks before launch
  • Drive projects focused on reducing scrap, improving yield, lowering concessions, and improving overall Cost of Quality metrics
  • Interpret technical drawings, GD&T requirements, and MBD data to ensure manufacturing controls align with engineering specifications
  • Develop and execute measurement strategies using CMMs, 3D scanning systems, metrology tools, and hand gages

What You'll Bring to Our Team
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related discipline OR equivalent 5 years' hands on experience in manufacturing quality disciplines
  • 5+ years of experience with manufacturing quality/NPI quality projects and process improvement
  • Experience interpreting data to solve problems associated with high volume, short cycle manufacturing of consumer products.
  • Ability to work within large cross-functional teams and at multiple levels in the organization (both salaried and shop floor operators / skilled trades team members).
  • Influencer and team player - drive quality metrics but willing to look at the bigger picture.
  • Good communicator - data driven, makes decisions based on the data. Speaks up in meetings along with leading meetings with a strong passion for world class quality.
  • Proactive to seeing a problem and eager to drive an innovative sustainable long-term solution without significant direction.
