Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries is seeking an energetic and highly motivated engineer for a position as a Yield Engineer in our state-of-the-art 300mm wafer fab in Malta, NY. The candidate will drive yield improvement and product performance on advanced technology nodes on GlobalFoundries' strategic roadmap.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

  • Drive yield and product performance for technology nodes at 45nm and below, with the focus of this position supporting our high-volume production.
  • Investigate root cause of yield and product functionality issues.
  • Use data analysis, failure analysis, product and design information, device knowledge, and technology understanding to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Engage with our customers on weekly calls giving clear updates on current yield status and forecasts.
  • Work closely with Test, Integration and Process Modules to implement fast and cost-effective improvements.
  • Support customer engineering to fully meet external customer requirements.
  • Support process module engineering activities to improve cost, cycle time, and manufacturing robustness.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
  • Any duties as assigned by manager / supervisor

Required Qualifications:

  • Education - Bachelor's Degree in Circuit Design, Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
  • Experience - Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in the semiconductor industry or related field.
  • Fluency in English language - both written and verbal
  • Excellent data analysis and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment
  • Working knowledge in the design, execution, and analysis of experiments.
  • Knowledge of circuit design and test, solid state device physics, submicron FET architectures, and the implications of electrical characteristics and performance on yield and product behavior
  • Affinity for quick learning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. preferred
  • Working knowledge of semiconductor processing and process integration
  • Prior experience in Yield Engineering supporting high volume production

Expected Salary Range

$69,000.00 - $120,000.00
