Position Summary

The Work Control Planner is responsible for developing and reviewing detailed work packages to support the safe and efficient execution of operations, maintenance, and modification activities within assigned facilities or areas. This includes preparing time, material, and labor estimates, as well as drafting clear, step-by-step work instructions and ensuring all applicable procedures, safety measures, and testing requirements are defined. Responsibilities may span mechanical, electrical, chemical, and/or radiological systems, requiring alignment with applicable policies and procedures. The Work Control Planner also identifies and resolves work constraints while supporting work package readiness, execution, and final closeout.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and review work packages, including time, material, and labor estimates.
  • Prepare step-by-step work instructions, procedures, and safety/testing requirements.
  • Coordinate work activities across mechanical, electrical, chemical, and/or radiological systems.
  • Identify and resolve work constraints to ensure readiness and smooth execution.
  • Support the completion and closeout of work packages in compliance with policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 12 years of direct experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-Clearance
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work through problems quickly and effectively and define a clear path to resolution
