Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Work Control Planner to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and review detailed work packages for operations, maintenance, and modification activities within assigned facilities or areas.
  • Prepare time, material, and labor estimates to support accurate planning and execution of work activities.
  • Write clear step-by-step work instructions, procedures, and documentation to ensure safe and efficient task completion.
  • Incorporate safety requirements, testing criteria, and regulatory compliance into all work planning documentation.
  • Coordinate planning activities related to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiological equipment and systems.
  • Evaluate and apply applicable policies, procedures, and technical requirements to planned work scopes.
  • Identify and resolve work restraints to ensure readiness for field execution.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance personnel to ensure work packages meet technical and operational requirements.
  • Verify completeness and accuracy of documentation prior to work execution.
  • Support the closure of completed work packages by confirming documentation, testing results, and required approvals are finalized.

Requirements
  • Education & Years of Experience - Bachelor's Degree in 5+ years of relevant experience; additional, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Citizenship - To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
  • Clearance - To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.

The NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons. This lab possesses unique capabilities in neutron scattering, enhanced surveillance, radiography, and plutonium science and engineering (energy.gov).
