Your Role
The Business Configuration Automation team creates innovative automated solutions that support both Business Configuration teams and their customers. The Senior Application Developer reports to the Senior Manager of the Business Configuration Shared Services team and plays a key role in advancing automation initiatives. In this position, you will design, develop, and enhance software applications and tools that support accurate, timely reporting and configuration activities. Your work will help improve operational efficiency, ensure reliable member enrollment processes, streamline claims processing, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality business solutions across the organization.

Responsibilities
Your Work
In this role, you will:
  • Apply software engineering concepts, principles and processes throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to application design and technical specification development.
  • Build user interfaces and applications based on approved designs and technical requirements.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and maintain code to ensure quality and alignment with specifications.
  • Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to less experienced team members.
  • Work across 2-3 technology platforms or application stacks.
  • Manage two to three moderately complex projects simultaneously.
  • Partner with team members to clarify objectives, priorities, and project requirements.
  • Participate in Agile development processes and ceremonies.
  • Collaborate with customers to design solutions that address business requirements and user stories.

Qualifications
Your Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • 4-5 years of experience in a computer-related support role required.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills. Project management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of UNIX and/or Windows Operating System and Internet technologies.
  • Proficiency with VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), PowerShell, version control systems, and Agile project and issue tracking tools required.
  • Knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL server required.
  • Experience with SQL development required.
  • Scripting PERL, BOURNE, C++.
  • Knowledge of Websphere (Administrator or Installation Level)
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of user interface design, application development, and software development methodologies, including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns, required.
  • Knowledge of FileNet (Installation on both UNIX and Windows level).
  • Experience with SVN/Git and JIRA preferred.
  • Familiarity with software debugging and integration methods, including APIs, web services, SOAP, and REST, preferred.

This role requires employees to be in-office based on our hybrid workplace model, balancing purposeful in-person collaboration with flexibility. For most teams, this means coming into the office two days each week.
Employees living more than 50 miles from an office location will work with their manager to determine in-office time based on business need.
