POSITION OVERVIEW

STi is seeking an Engineering Technician V to provide seniorhands-on technical support for submarine PSSE maintenance, certification,routine operational support, and non-ordnance handling evolutions supportingMARMC Code 271.

This role supportspreventive and corrective maintenance, certification, operational procedures,waterfront support, handling equipment readiness, shipping/receivingevolutions, and PSSE condition tracking for submarine support equipment locatedprimarily in Norfolk, VA and Groton, CT. The Engineering Technician V isexpected to bring strong hands-on mechanical, electrical, electronic, and PSSEtechnical experience, along with the maturity to serve as a senior technicianduring waterfront and non-ordnance handling operations.

The ideal candidatehas direct Navy submarine, shipyard, weapons handling support,ordnance/non-ordnance support equipment, weight handling equipment, or PSSEmaintenance experience.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilitiesinclude:

Perform preventiveand corrective maintenance and certification support for submarine PSSEequipment, Missile Tube Loading/Handling Maintenance Platforms, weapon cradles,ballast cans, VLS/VPT platforms, munitions trailers, handling slings, beams,support gear, and related equipment.

Conductmaintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, operational testing, anddocumentation in accordance with technical manuals, PMS schedules, drawings,TLMDs, MRCs, and approved procedures.

Supportmaintenance and operational procedures for AURVS, AURES, Mk 60 AURS, AURBb,ballast cans, TOTEMS, MK-48 fitment shapes, TOMFISH, TMDs, AERO 51 classmunitions trailers, MK-30/MK-34/CNU 308/Mk 793 containers, and relatedPSSE/non-ordnance support equipment.

Support blasting,painting, structural repair, corrosion repair, hardware replacement, gratingrepair, grab rail repair, support leg repair, bushing replacement, and otherapproved maintenance actions on Missile Tube Loading/Handling MaintenancePlatforms.

Prepare conditionreport inputs identifying required repair or replacement actions beforecorrective maintenance is performed.

Supportdepot-level maintenance when assigned and approved by Government stakeholders.

Maintaincertification status by performing required maintenance and minor repairs anddocumenting all work performed.

Maintain HAZMATlockers and support safe handling/storage of materials required for PSSEmaintenance.

Maintain or updatedatabases reflecting PSSE location, maintenance status, condition code, andrelated equipment status information.

Provide waterfrontand pier-side technical support during delivery, loading/off-loading, storage,handling, canning, un-canning, movement, transportation, and shipping/receivingof PSSE equipment and inert components.

Verify handlingequipment, lifting equipment, vehicles, forklifts, bomb carts, and associatedsupport equipment have proper maintenance and current certification beforehandling evolutions.

Supportnon-ordnance handling coordination among MARMC, CSS-6/8, Naval MunitionsCommand, NSSF New London, and other stakeholders.

Attend pierde-confliction meetings and support preparation of weekly handling schedulesand equipment requests.

Serve as part ofqualified non-ordnance handling teams supporting submarines berthed at NavalStation Norfolk and other approved locations.

Assist withmovement and transportation of hull-owned equipment within authorized distancelimitations.

Work safely inshipboard, waterfront, industrial, maintenance, and confined-space environmentsin accordance with customer, OSHA, PPE, and local activity requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

U.S. Citizenshiprequired. Active Secret clearance required.

Minimum 8 years offull-time hands-on experience in the design, installation, test, and repair ofmechanical, electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems/equipment.

Minimum 6 years offull-time hands-on technical experience within the last 10 years in theoperation, maintenance, installation, test, and/or repair of PSSE incorporatedin Submarine PSSE Non-Ordnance Handling systems.

Hands-onexperience performing maintenance, inspection, test, repair, documentation, orcertification support using technical manuals, drawings, PMS, MRCs, TLMDs, orsimilar maintenance controls.

Ability to supportwaterfront, shipboard, industrial, maintenance, and non-ordnance handlingoperations.

Ability to workeffectively as part of a technical team and coordinate with Government, fleet,shipyard, squadron, and contractor personnel.

Strong attentionto detail and ability to document maintenance, equipment status, conditioncodes, and corrective actions accurately.

Ability to workaboard U.S. Navy ships and in shipyard/waterfront environments.

Ability to walk,climb ladders/stairs, carry tools/materials, navigate confined or crowdedshipboard spaces, and work in varying environmental conditions.

Ability to obtainand maintain required local activity training, OSHA/safety training, CPRcertification, PPE compliance, and customer-required onboarding credentials.

Ability to travelbetween work sites as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior experiencesupporting MARMC, RMC, NAVSEA, Navy shipyards, submarine squadrons, NSSF NewLondon, Naval Station Norfolk, Groton, or submarine maintenance activities.

Direct experiencewith submarine PSSE, non-ordnance handling equipment, VLS/VPT platforms,Missile Tube Loading/Handling Maintenance Platforms, ballast cans,AUR/AURB/AURVS/AURES, TOTEMS, TMDs, weapon cradles, munitions trailers, slings,beams, or weight handling equipment.

Experiencesupporting Navy waterfront handling evolutions, pier services, shipboardon-load/off-load operations, canning/uncanning, stenciling, shipping/receiving,or transportation support.

Experienceverifying maintenance and certification status of handling equipment, liftingequipment, forklifts, bomb carts, vehicles, or related support equipment.

Familiarity withHAZMAT locker management, OSHA shipyard requirements, PPE, confined-spaceprecautions, or shipboard industrial safety requirements.

Experiencemaintaining equipment status databases, condition code records, inventoryrecords, or certification documentation.

Prior seniortechnician, work lead, shop lead, team lead, or hands-on field lead experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Primary place ofperformance is MARMC / Naval Station Norfolk, Norfolk, VA.

Work may includeNorfolk, VA; Groton, CT; Navy shipyards; submarines; piers; waterfront areas;U.S. Naval facilities; contractor facilities; and approved travel locations.

Work requires useof required PPE and compliance with shipboard, industrial, OSHA, and localsafety requirements.
