Job Summary

We're looking for a Senior EHS Manager to lead environmental, health, safety, and compliance programs for our Carson City, Nevada facility. This role provides leadership, direction, and coaching to ensure site operations meet regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and business objectives while maintaining a strong focus on employee safety, environmental stewardship, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving EHS management system effectiveness, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading risk reduction initiatives, and developing a strong safety culture while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead implementation, compliance, and continuous improvement of the Corporate Environmental Health and Safety Management System.
  • Conduct EHS assessments and identify opportunities to improve safety performance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs while providing technical guidance to leaders and employees.
  • Lead investigations of high-risk incidents, oversee root cause analyses, and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company EHS requirements and standards.
  • Manage environmental programs including air permits, wastewater and stormwater permits, waste management, spill prevention, emergency response, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
  • Serve as the site's EHS subject matter expert and champion effective use of EHS management systems, reporting tools, and performance metrics.
  • Partner with site leadership to establish annual EHS objectives, targets, and performance improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with engineering, facilities, operations, and human resources to integrate safety and environmental requirements into processes, equipment, and facility modifications.
  • Support industrial hygiene, medical management, return-to-work, environmental sustainability, site security, emergency preparedness, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Lead the site's EHS Committee and promote employee engagement through safety meetings, Gemba walks, and site-wide activities.
  • Supervise and develop EHS staff, wastewater technicians, consultants, and contractors while ensuring effective management of site environmental and safety programs.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience within manufacturing, aerospace, specialty coatings, machining, or other industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining EHS management systems and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proven success leading incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action programs.
  • Experience managing environmental compliance programs including permits, waste management, and regulatory reporting.
  • Ability to influence leaders and employees at all levels while driving accountability and behavioral change.
  • Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and training facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency with EHS software systems and Microsoft Office applications, including data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Understanding of industrial hygiene, ergonomics, occupational health, and workers' compensation processes.

 

Nice to Have

  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or related EHS credentials.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing or FAA-regulated environments.
  • Nevada-specific environmental, health, and safety regulatory experience.
  • Experience supporting sustainability initiatives and environmental performance improvement programs.
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment operations, air emissions control systems, and hazardous waste management.

This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
