Job description

Who You Are

Do you think in series rather than one-offs? Can you direct a shoot in the morning and pitch a production overhaul in the afternoon?

Justworks is seeking a Senior Video Content Producer who moves between hands-on craft and long-range planning. You will lead our most complex projects from concept to delivery, shape the content strategy they ladder up to, and build the systems that let the rest of the team move faster. Flagship work includes In Good Company, our customer spotlight series, and Big Swing, our social-first episodic series, plus product launch films, brand documentaries, and internal communications.

This is an individual contributor role. You lead through expertise and creative judgment, not management authority.

Your Success ProfileWhat You Will Work On

Production Leadership

  • Lead complex projects end to end, from pre-production through final delivery
  • Serve as Director of Photography, making creative and technical calls in real time
  • Run the shoot: location scouting, gear, shot planning, talent direction
  • Own creative direction of post; collaborate with editors on the cut, animation, and delivery
  • Juggle concurrent projects, flag risks early, and adjust timelines before they slip

Creative Strategy & Content Leadership

  • Shape video content strategy with the Creative Director, aligned to brand and business goals
  • Spot high-impact content opportunities; propose the format, platform, and narrative angle
  • Lead ideation for major projects: product launches, customer spotlights, company communications
  • Brief and mentor freelance editors, animators, and directors on creative vision and craft
  • Analyze content performance and feed what you learn into the next round
  • Hold the editorial bar across everything the team ships

Systems, Operations & Process Design

  • Design and optimize production workflows: storage, review, file organization, vendor management
  • Evaluate and recommend the tools and infrastructure the team runs on
  • Manage vendor and freelancer relationships, including timelines, budgets, and deliverables
  • Protect the archive: backup protocols, data integrity, asset organization standards

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence

  • Partner with Product, Product Marketing, Content, Customer Education, Customer Success, People, and Leadership on content initiatives
  • Translate ambiguous business asks into clear creative direction
  • Surface content opportunities across the organization and pitch the ones worth making
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

How You Will Do Your Work

As the Senior Video Content Producer, how results are achieved is paramount for your success and ultimately results in our success as an organization. In this role, your foundational knowledge, skills, abilities, and personal attributes are anchored in the following:

  • Strategic Thinking: You see how individual videos fit into larger narrative arcs and business goals. You build for scale, not just for the next deadline.
  • Collaborative Leadership: You lead through expertise, not authority. You brief clearly, give direct feedback, and find ways to say yes without lowering the bar.
  • Operational Excellence: You design processes that work for humans and scale cleanly. You spot inefficiencies and fix them unprompted, then document what you built.
  • Editorial Judgment: You make creative decisions grounded in storytelling principles and platform reality. You can defend a choice and still stay open to being wrong about it.
  • Craft Depth: You know production, editing, motion, and post well enough to talk execution with any freelancer. You know when to roll up your sleeves and when to delegate.

In addition, all Justworkers focus on aligning their behaviors to our core values known as COGIS. It stands for:

  • Camaraderie: Collaborate across teams to drive shared growth outcomes.
  • Openness: Be transparent about strategy and tradeoffs; actively seek feedback.
  • Grit: Persevere through ambiguity and the iterative work of building a scaled growth system.
  • Integrity: Ensure messaging is accurate and sets expectations that reinforce long-term trust.
  • Simplicity: Translate system-level thinking into clear, actionable direction for partners.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional video production in a fast-paced, multi-project environment
  • Demonstrated expertise across concept development, directing, cinematography, and editing
  • Track record leading complex projects from concept to delivery with minimal oversight
  • Strong editorial judgment and storytelling instincts across formats and platforms
  • Experience briefing and coordinating freelance and external creative partners
  • Deep understanding of YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram, and web, and how to optimize for each
  • Proven ability to design or improve workflows that made a team measurably faster
  • Portfolio or reel across multiple formats and series, with your role on each project documented
  • Experience in brand, corporate, or SaaS content a plus
  • Experience with video storage, DAM, or creative workflow tools such as Frame.io a plus

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $121,000.00 - $151,000.00 per year.
