About the Role:
*This role is a New York City based HYBRID position. Candidates must be located in NYC, and willing to come into the office on a hybrid basis, three times a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).*
Fubo is currently seeking an SVP, Controller to help manage and grow our internal accounting team. They will be an integral partner to our CFO, overseeing the global accounting function. This role will be responsible for all aspects of the accounting function, internal controls, and compliance for a complex global public company. The Controller will ensure the integrity of financial information, support scalable growth, and partner cross-functionally to drive our business performance.
Responsibilities:
  • Help oversee all corporate accounting functions including: revenue, AR/AP, cost accounting, and financial systems
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
  • Assist with all internal and external financial reporting and analysis for the management team, department heads, the Board of Directors, and investors
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP/SOX and statutory reporting requirements; assist with the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
  • Aid the team with all SEC filings
  • Maintain compliance with loan documents
  • Help develop accounting processes, systems and controls to scale with business growth, including documentation of policies and procedures
  • Manage journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for monthly and/or annual closing; manage the monthly/quarterly/annual close and related reporting process
  • Providing monthly, quarterly and year-end analyses
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts; analyze and report cost variances
  • Review the company's accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
  • Help the team through annual audits working closely with internal and external auditing teams
  • Champion process improvement efforts to drive efficiency and effectiveness over corporate accounting and general ledger activities
  • Work on other special projects involving financial reporting, accounting systems, data integrity, general ledger and reporting and optimization, and other compliance issues
  • Promote and provide service excellence through collaborative, informed, accessible and professional engagement
  • Advise leadership team members on material customer contract terms, revenue recognition policies, expense management, and other financial matters
  • Act as a change agent to drive improved efficiency within the technical accounting function and upgrade processes and procedures to be best-in-class
  • Manage the technical accounting research and related documentation of technical accounting matters, as they specifically apply to fubo's operation
  • Serve as a key advisor to the CFO and executive leadership team on accounting policy, financial risks, and operational efficiencies
  • Support strategic business initiatives
  • Partner with FP&A, Investor Relations, and others to align financial reporting with business strategy
  • Continue to build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global accounting organization
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development

Qualifications:
  • 20+ years of experience leading accounting functions for public companies; CPA required
  • Deep expertise in SEC reporting, U.S. GAAP, and SOX compliance
  • Experience in media, subscription based businesses, or technology companies strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to manage and grow global teams
  • Strong knowledge of various accounting tools, ERP systems, and financial reporting systems
  • Adaptability in a fast moving environment and industry
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Detail oriented and data driven
  • Proven ability to drive and improve efficiencies within technical accounting functions and upgrade processes and procedures

Fubo's minimum base salary for this role if hired in New York City is $275,000 per year; maximum base salary for this role is $390,000 per year. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Fubo's equity plan, annual cash bonus plans, unlimited PTO, and a full range of medical benefits. The final offer amount will be at the company's sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of experience and expertise, and other business considerations.
