The Opportunity:

The Business Systems Analyst IV will operate as a liaison at an enterprise level to shape and drive Velera's technology direction across teams and initiatives.

This role will partner across product, engineering, data, platform, and business teams to ensure that work is aligned to a clear technology strategy, scalable design approaches, and long-term organizational goals. The individual will act as a bridge between business strategy and technology execution, helping teams make better decisions, promoting enterprise standards, and maintain forward momentum on complex initiatives.

Day in the Life:

  • Through strong communication and influence, this role will articulate the future-state technology vision, translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes, and guide high-impact decisions across the organization.
  • Utilizes advanced techniques to encourage cross functional team collaboration and creates an environment of open and honest communication to help the team embrace changes, manage complexities, adopt consistent and best practices, meet deliverables on medium to large projects.
  • Facilitates high-level meetings and workshops with stakeholders and executives to discuss overall project and business strategies and roadmaps and ensure alignment with business priorities and regulatory expectations.
  • Create and deliver executive-level presentations and communications that translate technical topics into business value, risk, cost, and outcomes
  • Analyzes emerging technologies and tools including API and data technologies in order to translate technical jargon between the Product Owner, QA analysts, developers and the stakeholders of the business so that all partners are working towards a common goal.
  • Utilizes advanced emotional intelligence skills and active listening skills when communicating and building relationships with multiple stakeholders and vendor partners.
  • Monitor KPIs to measure the effectiveness of architecture alignment, governance processes, and delivery outcomes
  • Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences, asks good questions, and gives appropriate context and details when speaking.
  • Strategically leads research and analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that aid in the decision making process of senior leaders and executives.
  • Collaborate with architecture and engineering leaders to ensure solutions align with enterprise direction, security expectations, and compliance requirements (PCI, SOC2, FFIEC)
  • Advise the team members on Agile (Scrum or Kanban, as applicable) best practices and analysis techniques & tools.
  • The role may potentially create, refine, and maintain the User Stories/Requirements for a project, map the user stories to features, develop epics and features, define the acceptance criteria, and lead story estimations.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform decision-making, then has the ability to present these findings to senior leadership teams.
  • Operate with a strong bias toward action-making decisions, removing blockers, and maintaining momentum even in ambiguous situations
  • Develop expertise in systems' gap and impact analysis to eliminate product inefficiencies and identify automation opportunities.
  • Lead department initiatives with limited supervision.
  • Provide mentoring and training to junior team members as well as cross-functional teams
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 10+ years of business analysis in a technology, product, data, platform, or engineering experience required.
  • Strong understanding of modern technology ecosystems (cloud, data platforms, APIs, distributed systems, etc.)
  • Experience in the financial and card payment industry is plus.
  • 5+ years' writing complex SQL queries are a plus
  • 5+ years' experience in mapping business processes
  • Experience with Azure Development Ops (ADO) is a big plus.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence with the ability to facilitate meetings, conduct presentations utilizing influence decisions, and negotiate and build consensus with limited supervision.
  • Practical knowledge of debit/credit card processing, financial systems, mobile solutions, high-availability systems, and data safe-keeping practices.
  • Excellent understanding of the Agile/Lean methodologies.
  • The ability to perform detailed data mapping and data modeling, as well as create network topology diagrams, and process flow diagrams.

Pay Equity

$95,800.00 - $124,500.00

Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
