Job description

Responsible for safely facilitating the movement of finished and unfinished material through the manufacturing and production process.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Reviews work orders or follows verbal instructions to move pallets and containers from machines.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Moves material from storage or work sites to designated areas. Ensures that operators have all the raw materials to operate their equipment.
  • Stacks and assembles materials into bundles. Bands bundles.
  • Removes empty pallets from equipment.
  • Performs duties of Shipper/Receiver as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Nature and Scope
  • Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
  • Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.
Work Environment
  • Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
  • Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
Education and Experience
  • HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
  • Specialized skills training/certification may be required.
  • Generally, 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified forklift operator with experience safely moving materials in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment
  • Experience supplying raw materials, components, or finished goods to support continuous production operations
  • Ability to read work orders, identify material requirements, and accurately stage materials for production teams
  • Strong attention to detail when handling inventory, tracking material movement, and maintaining accurate counts
  • Familiarity with shipping, receiving, inventory control, or warehouse management processes
  • Commitment to workplace safety and the ability to work around moving equipment, machinery, and production lines
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while performing physical tasks including lifting, stacking, and material handling
