Location: Silver Spring, MD

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the development of the system structure for infrastructure design and implementation.
  • Collaborate with the Department lead on roll out for updates on software.
  • Assist in developing systems to streamline effective connections to all systems platforms.
  • Assist in the design, configuration, and implementation of a new Lawson Financial/HRIS system.
  • Completion of implementation project, the individual will assume a lead technical role as both System Administrator and DBA.
  • Major tasks associated with the implementation include a review of the physical DB design, Unix systems architecture design.
  • Lawson application configuration, and installation and integration of Hyperion Planning servers and software.
  • Implement all new software and systems as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams for new location buildout.
  • Display knowledge of Systems Admin/DBA experience in a Tier 1 ERP environment Hyperion/Essbase
  • Installing and tuning system software and application tools, creating primary database storage structures, creating primary objects (table, views, and indexes), ongoing modification of.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams for new location buildout.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Significant substantive knowledge of entertainment contract law, procedures, terminology, and documents relating to corporate matters; high degree of specialization in areas of expertise.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and delegation skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to both understand the "big picture" and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suites and other law office software.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and to work proactively.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment; ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Legal right to work in the United States.
  • Lawson Financial/HRIS experience highly desirable but may be substituted for Systems Admin/DBA experience in a Tier 1 ERP environment. Hyperion/Essbase experience preferred.
  • Installing and tuning system software and application tools, creating primary database storage structures, creating primary objects (table, views, and indexes), on-going modification of database structure to. accommodate application testing and development, and Unix network integration.
  • Ensure change management and defined database standards and procedures are followed.
  • Configure, maintain and troubleshoot the Hyperion Planning and Essbase environment.
  • On-going maintenance of the UNIX systems including performance monitoring, system backups, diagnosis/troubleshooting system problems, and disaster planning.
  • Manage UNIX-related network including the configuration of desktop systems and coordinating efforts with the management of Local Area Networks.
  • Maintain the UNIX Intranet and Internet server environment including Web and FTP servers.
  • Maintenance of all security aspects of the Lawson/UNIX environment including the creation of new users and monitoring users' access to the database.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Lawson System Administrator.
  • Lead role in the ongoing support of associated systems, databases, and end users.
  • Perform other technical duties as assigned.
  • Travel to remote Radio One locations may be required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • BA preferred, a minimum of 3 years of Systems Administration experience on UNIX/AIX.
  • Shell scripting and performance monitoring/tuning experience required.
  • Experience with clustering solutions is also required (HACMP, MC Service guard, Veritas).
  • RDBMS knowledge must include DB2 UDB with 2+ years in a DBA role.
