Job Summary:
AeroVironment (AV) is a global leader in unmanned aircraft systems and tactical missile systems. The primary role of the System Administrator is to manage and support mission-critical IT infrastructure, involving day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance across Windows and UNIX systems.
Responsibilities:
• Provide Tier I and II IT support and problem resolution.
• Manage client/server/storage/network infrastructure.
• Configure and manage RedHat Linux and Windows systems.
• Support vulnerability management using Nessus.
• Handle STE/STN scoring and documentation.
• Maintain POA&Ms and patch systems based on security and functional parameters.
• Collaborate with hardware vendors on system specs and refreshes.
• Analyze escalated issues and provide actionable feedback.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field is required or equivalent combination of education, and experience
• Minimum 10+ years of system administration experience
• Strong RedHat Linux and Windows (2012/2016/2019) troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity with Nessus, POA&Ms, and STE/STN initiatives
• Experience configuring UNIX and Windows environments
• An active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Top Secret with Poly clearance
• Must qualify as a U.S. person under the ITAR and the EAR, or a person to be approved for an export license
Preferred:
• Experience with virtual environments and system capacity planning
