Job description

Company Description
Info Advantage Inc. is a full-service information technology services firm based in Rochester, NY. Since 1992, we have specialized in cloud computing, virtualization, disaster recovery, data storage, voice-over-IP, and managed services. Our partnerships with leading technology providers like Barracuda Networks, Dell, IBM, Microsoft, and VMware enable us to deliver cutting-edge solutions to our clients.

Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Systems Engineer II at Info Advantage Inc. As a mid-level engineer in our MSP environment, you will serve as a "jack of all trades" resource, balancing hands-on technical work with customer support and project execution. Your days will vary—from configuring firewalls and deploying servers to troubleshooting end-user issues and leading cloud migrations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys solving diverse challenges, and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Deployment & Management:
  • Configure and maintain firewalls, switches, and wireless access points (e.g. UniFi, Fortinet, SonicWALL).
  • Deploy and manage on-premises and cloud servers (Windows Server, Hyper-V, VMware).
  • Implement and troubleshoot backup/disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Azure Backup, etc.).
Microsoft Modern Work Solutions:
  • Administer EntraID (Azure AD), including identity management, conditional access, and SSO.
  • Manage endpoints via Microsoft Intune (policies, application deployment, Autopilot).
  • Support Microsoft 365 workloads (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams).
Cloud & Virtualization:
  • Assist with cloud migrations (Azure, ) and hybrid environment setups.
  • Optimize virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V) for performance and scalability.
Customer Support & Projects:
  • Provide escalated technical support for clients, resolving issues ranging from network outages to user access problems.
  • Lead or contribute to projects like office relocations, hardware refreshes, and security upgrades.
Documentation & Best Practices:
  • Maintain detailed documentation for systems, processes, and client environments.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance reliability and security.
Qualifications
Technical Skills:
  • 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, preferably in an MSP or IT services environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft stack (Windows Server, EntraID, Intune, M365).
  • Hands-on experience with networking (firewalls, VLANs, VPNs), virtualization, and cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with RMM tools and PSA platforms is a plus (especially those in the MSP industry)
Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving skills—ability to diagnose issues under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Education/Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified, Azure Administrator, CCNA, or VMware VCP are desirable.
Work Environment
  • Hybrid role based in Rochester, NY, with flexibility for remote work (onsite client visits required).
  • Must be willing to:
  • Participate in occasional after-hours upgrades or emergency support.
  • Travel locally to client sites as needed.
Why Join Us?
  • Work with a variety of technologies and industries—no two days are the same!
  • Collaborative team with opportunities for growth and certifications.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
If you’re a versatile engineer who loves tackling new challenges and making an impact for clients, we’d love to hear from you!

This is not a software development role. Hands-on troubleshooting and customer interaction are core to this position.
