What is a Senior Unity Technical Artist?

A Senior Unity Technical Artist is a specialized professional who bridges the gap between artists and programmers in game development, primarily using the Unity engine. They create, optimize, and implement visual assets and effects while ensuring that the final product is both visually appealing and runs efficiently on target platforms. Their responsibilities often include developing shaders, optimizing art pipelines, troubleshooting performance issues, and mentoring junior team members. Senior Unity Technical Artists play a critical role in maintaining high visual standards without compromising performance.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Senior Unity Technical Artist?

To thrive as a Senior Unity Technical Artist, you need advanced expertise in 3D modeling, shading, texturing, and a deep understanding of Unity’s rendering pipeline, often supported by a degree in art, computer graphics, or a related field. Proficiency with Unity, scripting languages (such as C#), and tools like Maya, Blender, or Substance Painter is typically required. Strong problem-solving ability, collaboration, and effective communication are essential soft skills that help bridge creative and technical teams. These skills ensure visually impressive, technically optimized assets that enhance gameplay and performance across projects.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager / Senior Tax Advisor who is passionate about helping clients make better financial decisions while leading tax engagements from start to finish, as our clients rely on us year-round

Founded in 2007, Financial Groove is a boutique accounting and advisory firm located in the Arts District of downtown Las Vegas. We specialize in serving creative entrepreneurs, performing artists, entertainers, and small arts businesses throughout the United States. Our services extend beyond tax preparation to include bookkeeping, tax planning, financial consulting, and business coaching.

Financial Groove is a small firm by design. We believe our size allows us to build meaningful relationships. Our team is collaborative, supportive, and recognize that everyone's contributions matter.

If you're looking for a firm where your voice is heard, your expertise is respected, and your teammates have your back, you'll feel at home at Financial Groove.

Our Team Approach

At Financial Groove, we believe experienced tax professionals create the greatest value by combining technical tax preparation with strategic client advisory.

Our collaborative production model utilizes junior tax associates and administrative team members to assist with client onboarding, document collection, tax organizers, workpaper preparation, preliminary calculations, and follow-up. As the Tax Manager, you will prepare and review tax returns while directing this process, leveraging your support team effectively, and ensuring every engagement is accurate, timely, and complete.

This approach allows you to spend less time on administrative tasks and more time analyzing tax situations, identifying planning opportunities, and providing meaningful guidance that helps clients make informed financial decisions.

We rely on each other. Every team member has an important role, but we're also willing to lend a hand when needed to support one another and ensure our clients receive exceptional service. We value people who take ownership, collaborate well, and believe that team success comes first.

Position Summary

The Tax Manager / Senior Tax Advisor is responsible for preparing and reviewing complex individual and business tax returns while serving as the primary advisor for a portfolio of clients. This role combines technical tax expertise with relationship management, tax planning, workflow leadership, and staff development.

Working alongside junior team members who assist with information gathering and workpaper preparation, the Tax Manager ensures tax engagements are completed efficiently while providing proactive tax insights and practical recommendations that create value beyond tax compliance.

  • Build trusted relationships through proactive communication and exceptional client service.
  • Provide year-round tax planning and advisory services.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce tax liability and improve clients' financial outcomes.
  • Research complex tax issues and communicate practical solutions.

Tax Preparation & Review

  • Prepare complex federal and multi-state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, corporations, trusts, and fiduciaries.
  • Review work prepared by junior staff for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Analyze financial information to identify tax-saving opportunities, planning strategies, and potential risks.
  • Communicate tax results and planning recommendations in a clear, practical manner that helps clients make informed business and financial decisions.
  • Provide year-round guidance to clients regarding tax law changes, entity structure, estimated tax payments, and business decisions.
  • Ensure all returns meet the firm's quality standards while balancing efficiency, accuracy, and exceptional client service.

Leadership & Workflow Management

  • Lead a collaborative team of junior tax associates and administrative professionals throughout the tax preparation process.
  • Delegate work effectively while maintaining accountability for quality and deadlines.
  • Mentor and coach developing staff through constructive feedback and technical guidance.
  • Coordinate workflow to ensure projects move efficiently from document collection through final delivery.
  • Help improve internal processes, efficiency, and client experience.

Operational Excellence

  • Protect client confidentiality and maintain the highest ethical standards.
  • Participate in continuing education to remain current on tax law and regulatory changes.
  • Contribute to firm initiatives and continuously seek opportunities to improve operations.
  • Support firm leadership with workflow planning, scheduling, and departmental efficiency.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of five years of recent public accounting tax experience.

  • Knowledge of payroll tax reporting, including Forms 941 and 940 and their relationship to business tax returns.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff.

Busy Season Expectations

This is a year-round position. While we value work-life balance, public accounting requires flexibility during peak filing periods. Tax Managers are expected to work additional hours during busy season and extension deadlines to ensure exceptional client service and timely completion of engagements. During non-peak periods, schedules are generally more flexible.

What Success Looks Like

The successful Tax Manager understands that preparing accurate tax returns is only the beginning of exceptional client service. They use each engagement as an opportunity to educate clients, identify tax-saving opportunities, anticipate future planning needs, and strengthen long-term relationships. Compensation: $78,000–$90,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications, plus review commissions, performance incentives, comprehensive benefits, paid continuing education, and significant opportunities for professional growth.
