The Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test - Automation/Playwright passionate about latest technologies, modern frameworks, and design patterns to join our Human Resource Technology (HRT) engineering team. In this role, you will leverage your software development and test automation expertise to design, develop, and maintain robust automated tests for web applications and REST APIs using the Playwright framework. You will conduct regression testing, improve software quality, and accelerate delivery through integration with test management, CI/CD, and automation tools.

As a quality advocate, you will help establish and promote QA best practices, develop and maintain test cases and automation suites, track and resolve defects, participate in defect triage, and validate production releases. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to delivering reliable, scalable, and business-critical software solutions.

The Skills and Expertise You Bring

  • Minimum 6 years of experience with architecting automation test platforms
  • Minimum 6 years of experience with architecting and implementing development pipelines (CI / CD)
  • Experience in designing and implementing robust QA strategies and test frameworks for API, Web with deep expertise in end-to-end validation
  • Strong hands-on experience in test automation using Playwright and Selenium and with one of the following: JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or Node.js.
  • Experience integrating automated testing into DevOps workflows using Jenkins and other CI/CD tools.
  • Proficiency with source control management and collaborative development practices using GitHub.
  • Strong SQL and database testing skills, including data validation, test data management, and automated data seeding strategies.
  • Cloud experience preferred - Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Top skills needed: Front end, Playwright, Xray, chaos, Datadog, node.js, Java, Java Script, Jenkins core
  • Good understanding of accessibility features and building and testing accessible experiences on Web
  • Use your knowledge of testing and testability to influence better software design, promote proper software engineering and bug prevention strategies, testability and security
  • Actively participate in the development process through writing and maintaining application features and automated tests including unit tests, component tests, integration tests, functional tests, performance tests, scenario tests and interoperability tests
  • Collaborate with team members on improving team's test coverage, release velocity and production health
  • Ability to analyze test results, identify root causes, drive defect resolution, and continuously improve quality processes and automation effectiveness.

Fidelity's Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
