Overview

An Automotive Service Drive Manager is a leadership position in a dealership’s service department, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service lane and ensuring smooth, efficient service delivery. This role often reports to the Service Manager and works closely with technicians, service advisors, parts staff, and warranty teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Oversight: Manage the service drive (service lane) to ensure timely vehicle turnover, proper scheduling, and efficient workflow.

• Team Leadership: Hire, train, and motivate service staff, including technicians, advisors, and support personnel, to meet business and customer expectations.

• Customer Service: Ensure high-quality service delivery, maintain customer satisfaction, and handle customer concerns promptly.

• Compliance & Quality: Enforce adherence to government regulations, service standards, and safety protocols.

• Coordination: Liaise between service advisors, technicians, and other departments to maintain smooth operations.

• Performance Monitoring: Track service metrics, customer satisfaction scores, and profitability goals.

Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Typically 2–3+ years in a service management or senior service advisor role in a dealership.

• Leadership: Strong interpersonal and motivational skills to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of automotive service processes, parts, and equipment.

• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
