MAKE AN IMPACT THAT MATTERS

We’re looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Technology Systems Designer (IMIT) to join our Angus Connect team and contribute to the successful delivery of projects across various market sectors, including large-scale data centres, acute and non-acute healthcare, and commercial environments. In this role, you’ll take ownership of the design and coordination of technology systems, ensuring they meet client needs, project specifications, and industry standards.

You’ll prepare detailed designs, drawings, calculations, and cost estimates for medium-sized projects, applying advanced technical skills in one or more IMIT disciplines—such as communications, security, AV, and building automation. You’ll assess design constructability, make edits to specifications, and complete general construction administration tasks with minimal guidance from senior contributors, while seeking input from Subject Matter Experts when needed.

As a key project contributor, you’ll manage and prioritize your own design activities to meet project deadlines, ensure the technical accuracy of deliverables, and contribute to the development of design standards and documentation. You’ll collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and contractors, providing technical insight and ensuring high-quality, coordinated solutions that align with project objectives.

This position is ideal for a proactive and solutions-driven designer who enjoys applying advanced design tools such as Revit and AutoCAD, thrives in a collaborative environment, and takes pride in delivering innovative, technology-enabled facilities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Established and productive individual contributor.
  • Completes technology system design independently, reaching out to Subject Matter Experts (SME) for guidance, as required.
  • Demonstrates some advanced skills in one discipline relating to the ICAT industry.
  • Completes general construction administration tasks with minimal guidance from senior designers.
  • Prepares plans, designs, calculations and cost estimates for medium-sized projects.
  • Assesses design constructability and makes edits to existing design specifications with support and guidance from more senior designers.
  • Manages and prioritizes own project activities in order to meet project deadlines for all assigned tasks.
  • Develops standards and reports with moderate support and guidance from more senior contributors.
  • Effectively applies the appropriate tools and methodologies used for product and service delivery (e.g., advanced REVIT, working knowledge of AutoCAD, HHA Drawing Standards, etc.)
  • Ensures technical accuracy and competency of design details of a project.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years engineering consulting experience an asset.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.

The expected salary for this role is between $80,000 to $101,000 annually. Base salaries are determined considering several factors such as skills and competencies, experience, education, and internal and external competitiveness.
