Job Summary:
Chubb is a world leader in insurance, providing a wide range of insurance products globally. They are seeking a Senior Business Product Owner to champion the Analytics Product, managing relationships with various business leaders and driving the deployment of analytical solutions to enhance business performance and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Build and own trusted senior relationships with Chief Underwriting Officers, Business Unit Heads, Chief Actuaries, and underwriting leadership across LOBs; represent the Analytics Product at governance forums and executive steering committees, articulating value in business terms — premium impact, loss ratio, and combined ratio.
• Own the end-to-end deployment lifecycle — from business problem scoping and use case definition through pilot, production launch, and sustained adoption — managing stakeholder alignment, change management, and adoption barriers across multiple LOBs simultaneously.
• Translate LOB strategic objectives into product requirements and deployment roadmaps; collaborate with underwriting and actuarial teams to align analytical outputs with each LOB's growth, profitability, and risk appetite goals, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Define KPIs and measurement frameworks for each deployment; track value realization against targets, report outcomes to senior leadership, and identify opportunities to expand to new LOBs, geographies, and business segments.
• Jointly own the multi-year product vision and roadmap with the Technical Lead, ensuring business strategy and technical innovation advance in lockstep; provide the business perspective on investment decisions, capability trade-offs, and deployment sequencing.
• Define and prioritize use cases delivering the highest business impact — balancing profitability improvement, premium growth, and operational efficiency — and develop compelling business cases through the analytics governance process to secure organizational prioritization and resource allocation.
• Lead cross-LOB analytics initiatives where platform capabilities intersect with broader enterprise portfolio and growth strategies; determine resourcing requirements in partnership with the Technical Lead and relevant capability teams.
• Maintain authoritative expertise in insurance portfolio management — pricing strategy, rate adequacy, loss ratio analysis, portfolio mix, underwriting appetite, and market dynamics — and apply it to sharpen product direction and interpret analytical outputs for business stakeholders.
• Stay current on AI/ML-driven portfolio management trends and competitor capabilities; serve as the business SME guiding problem framing, data source selection, and model output assessment throughout the product lifecycle.
• Represent the Analytics Product at industry forums, internal centers of excellence, and business training sessions; speak on behalf of the analytics team in all business-facing settings.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree required
• 12+ years in the insurance industry with breadth across underwriting, pricing, actuarial, or portfolio management
• 5+ years in a senior leadership or product ownership role with accountability for business outcomes at an enterprise or multi-LOB level
• Deep expertise in insurance portfolio management: pricing strategy, rate adequacy, loss ratio and combined ratio analysis, portfolio mix management, and underwriting appetite
• commercial P&C required
• Proven ability to work credibly with C-suite business leaders — CUOs, Chief Actuaries, BU Heads — as a trusted advisor with demonstrated influence over portfolio-level P&L
• Demonstrated ability to bridge business and analytics: translating complex ML/AI/OR capabilities into business language and actionable outcomes
• skilled at evaluating model outputs, assessing analytical reasonability, and driving adoption among non-quantitative stakeholders
• Experience owning or co-owning an analytics product across its full lifecycle — vision, roadmap, deployment, and value realization — in an agile, cross-functional environment alongside data scientists, engineers, and technical leads
• Exceptional executive communication skills with the ability to engage senior business leaders and technical teams equally
• advanced stakeholder management across multiple LOBs in a matrixed organization, with strong influencing skills and conflict resolution ability
• Strategic thinker with a bias for action
• strong project management discipline, collaborative leadership style, and the ability to build followership across business, analytics, and technology communities
Preferred:
• advanced degree (MBA, MS, or actuarial designation FCAS/ACAS/FSA) strongly preferred
• Flow or Small Commercial experience a strong plus
