ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for overseeing and continuously improving DCG ONE's core IT infrastructure. This role focuses on designing, maintaining, and optimizing systems while balancing reliability, security, compliance, and overall user experience. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, application, and database servers
  • Administer Microsoft Entra ID, managing users, groups, security, roles, authentication flows, and directory integrations
  • Own server and workstation patching, lifecycle tracking, and end-of-life planning to reduce operational and security risk
  • Design, rebuild, and modernize servers and services to replace legacy systems with secure, maintainable solutions, exercising judgment in infrastructure and security design decisions
  • Maintain accurate documentation for infrastructure, system ownership, dependencies, recovery procedures, and operational runbooks
  • Deploy and maintain RMM and endpoint management tooling (including PDQ) for software deployment, patch management, endpoint visibility, and proactive issue resolution
  • Design and maintain Conditional Access policies, balancing security requirements with operational usability
  • Administer Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams
  • Use PowerShell and Microsoft Graph to automate routine tasks and improve consistency across identity and infrastructure
  • Partner with security vendors to implement controls, monitoring, and incident response actions
  • Support audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements by implementing technical controls, maintaining evidence, and assisting with audit responses
  • Own and support business-critical systems used by operations and production teams by evaluating and implementing technical solutions aligned with business, operational, and security objectives
  • Provide tier 2 / tier 3 escalation support and serve as a knowledge resource for the help desk team
  • Serve as an escalation point and provide advanced escalation support for infrastructure, identity, security, or complex application issues, including providing guidance, knowledge transfer, and resolution assistance on technically challenging issues
  • Maintain accurate system documentation and operational runbooks
  • Manage virtualization platforms (Hyper-V and/or VMware), including VM lifecycle, capacity planning, and performance troubleshooting
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders during incidents and planning discussions
  • Contribute to help desk efficiency by identifying recurring issues and addressing their root causes through configuration changes, documentation, or automation
  • Participate in on-call or after-hours response for critical incidents when required

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in systems administration or a similar infrastructure-focused role
  • Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy
  • Strong experience with Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, and role-based access controls
  • Practical experience with PowerShell for administration and automation, including Microsoft Graph
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V or VMware
  • Strong experience with RMM tooling and endpoint management platforms such as PDQ Deploy and PDQ Inventory
  • Experience operating in environments with security, compliance, or audit requirements
  • Comfortable with incident response, investigation, and remediation
  • May be required to complete and pass Public Trust Security Clearance
