Summary
The Senior Store Manager manages a store within the district, and has additional responsibilities throughout the district. The Senior Store Manager is responsible for coordinating plans and actions in the areas of people development, sales, payroll, inventory and budgets with their District Manager. The Senior Store Manager utilizes and coordinates all services provided by UGG and makes them consistent with the short and long-term interests of the Company. This position ensures that the store provides the highest level of customer service possible. Major parts of the job on a day-to-day basis include managing staff, finding new ways to improve sales, and meeting customer demand. In addition, the Senior Store Manager has responsibilities above and beyond the role of a Store Manager; including; driving various key businesses, building new business classifications, and developing talent throughout the district.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Personnel Development:
Supports DM in identifying and interviewing potential management candidates, conducts appraisals and performance management.
Supports DM in building bench strength within the District, hires teams who pursue passions that relate to the Company's products and philosophy.
Supports DM in by mentoring and providing support to Store Managers within the District.
Manages and motivates store teams to increase sales and improve efficiencies.
Delegate workload effectively to develop managers, as well as to meet business needs.
Supports Store and District in ensuring all employees are demonstrating the meaning and importance of customer service as outlined in Be the Brand customer Service program by observation, feedback and ensuring the store is maintaining a positive customer experience and engaging to build a customer relationship.
Promote and monitor quality of service among staff through training and by acting as a positive role model.
Promotes a positive work environment by recognizing outstanding performance and maintaining a respectful work place.
Be personally available to all customers to communicate and identify their needs and address their questions or concerns.
Inspire employees so that each person contributes to the productivity of the store.
Fosters open communication between stores and corporate business partners and departments.
Writes performance evaluations and goal assessments for the Associate Manager, Assistant Store Manager and Keyholders. Ensures all store associates are given reviews on schedule and documentation is received by the HR Department.
Operations:
Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understand forthcoming customer initiatives, and monitor what local competitors are doing.
Supports DM by conducting self-audits with attention to the key controls involving receiving and cash handling.
Drives improvements as needed.
Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control.
Supports DM, in maintaining training standards to ensure both product and systems expertise that will improve store operations and allow for better customer service.
Follow and maintain merchandising standards that reflect the image of UGG as described in the Visual Standards Binder.
Men's Store and new initiatives
Finance:
Supports District Manager in managing the budgeting and financial planning of stores while achieving results in own store.
Ensure that goals will be met through appropriate planning and organization of staff, inventory, and expenses for short and long term success.
Make staff aware of sales goals.
Monitor the Loss Prevention program to protect the Company's inventory and assets and minimize annual shrink.
Maintains acceptable inventory shrinkage measured as a percentage of sales.
Take necessary action to lower expenses if sales goals are not being met.
