Main Purpose and Major Challenges of the Role

Deliver consistent and positive customer experience that results in top-line sales growth and profitability. Identify business needs and partner with Sr. Store Manager to develop strategic plans to meet those needs and increase sales. The role of Store Manager requires detailed focus on controllable variables to drive store KPIs and motivate staff daily. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of their store location with concentration in sales goals & KPIs, customer service, visual merchandising and team building.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Sales & Team Leadership

  • Building and managing a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability
  • Providing exceptional customer service, including responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and resolving issues in a timely manner
  • Understand company set KPI's: You should clearly understand the company's set KPI's and be able to identify strategies when performance standards are not met.
  • Review reports on sales performance and market trends
  • Setting goals, tracking progress, and holding sales representatives accountable for meeting objectives
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with prospect/established customers and partners
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies: You will be responsible for creating and executing recruitment strategies that will attract top talent to the company
  • Create sales strategies to achieve targets/goals.
  • Embraces the opportunity to attend and/or initiate events outside the four walls of our stores to showcase the brand and either operate a short-lived pop-up shop or host an event like a beach cleanup
  • Always communicates clearly and effectively with retail business partners, sharing the state of the business, updates on their team, ideas for consideration, opportunities, and successes.
  • Mentoring and coaching sales representatives to improve their performance and help them achieve their goals
  • Collaborating with other departments, such as marketing and operations, to ensure company-wide alignment and success

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Operations

  • Supervise inventory management: You will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels by overseeing all aspects of inventory control, such as regular cycle counting, monitoring stock movements and executing inventory audits.
  • Develop operational strategies: You will use your expert knowledge in operations to help develop efficient processes and procedures that increase productivity, minimize waste and reduce costs
  • Ensure safety and compliance: You will maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and procedures
  • Partner with Sr Retail Operations Manager to streamline standard operating procedures to allow more time to focus on customer service and sales
  • Balance store needs with company needs such as Ship From Store orders, events, inventory consolidations etc
  • Build team schedules that support the needs of the business and align with payroll budgets
  • Maintain cleanliness standards on the sales floor and in back of house, keeping things well organized, presentable and free of clutter, dust & grime
  • Be cognizant of operational budgets when ordering supplies and other store needs
  • Follow all visual merchandising standards and strategies set in place by larger retail team

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Product Knowledge

  • Train and communicate current collection knowledge: This will allow you to build trust, enhance customer experience, and increase sales. Your team needs to be fully educated on product knowledge, seasonal strategy all with a focus on sustainability.
  • Implement training programs for employees, identifying with a focus on different product launches and brand initiatives
  • Take time to assess business by division and category to better understand your store’s strengths and opportunities and develop priority focuses for your team based on product performance
  • Partner with Sr Store Manager to develop store-based product specific focuses to target category or style specific sales
  • Develop a deep understanding of how our product assortment supports our brand mission
  • Encourage staff to try on new products so they can better assist customers find what will work best for them and increase store conversion rate

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Accomplished Store Manager who possesses a minimum of (3) three years of experience at this level, with a proven dedication and loyalty to their brands.
  • Proven ability to drive sales results, able to analyze selling reports, identify business trends, and react quickly to the needs of the business
  • Skilled at delivering thoughtful and appropriate positive and developmental feedback
  • Seeks feedback from business partners and cultivates an environment that encourages open conversation around opportunities to personally develop
  • Comfort in making decisions and mediating conflict within a team environment
  • Ability to address complex issues and allocate time to execute multiple tasks and change priorities
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to identify top talent and train/develop/retain great people
  • Experience creating schedules and managing time & attendance
  • Proficient in Windows-based software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with Shopify is a plus
