What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be working across the entire Brex stack but primarily focusing on frontend to create and maintain new products, features, and building tools to help scale Brex. You will have the opportunity to learn and push the frontier of providing the best financial software experience to help companies grow. You'll be encouraged to be metric and data-driven and to think creatively to help Brex scale and get prepared for the new markets we are about to enter. We're looking for folks with not only an interest in building products and tools but also interested in leading multi-functional projects with lots of moving pieces. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to drive direct business impact and shape our long-term technical vision with a high-quality bar.

Where you'll work

This role will be based in our Vancouver office. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work!

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineers across the company to build new features and products.
  • Work side-by-side with user facing teams (Sales, Support) to best understand the needs of our customers.ย 
  • Design and implement experiments to improve our customer's experiences.
  • Own problems end-to-end, thinking through everything from user experience, data models, scalability, operability and ongoing metrics.
  • Tune and polish features to a high-degree of excellence.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience withย modern frontend technologies and tools like ES6+, React, TypeScript, and Webpack
  • Experience architecting, developing, and testing client-side code end to end
  • Experience developing client facing software productsย 
  • Uphold our high engineering standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience collaborating with specialists in product, design, and operations
  • Recent full-stack development experience
  • Experience with developing in React Native for mobile
  • Basic experience with design tools
  • Great writing skills
  • Proactive approach.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $192,000 - $240,000 CAD + equity. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate's location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity.ย
