Job description

The Opportunity:

The Senior Integration Engineer is responsible for analysis, development and ongoing support of Salesforce centric integrations at Ritchie Bros. The Senior Integration Engineer will work closely with Development Managers, Senior Software Engineers and other team members such as QA Engineers, Product Owners, Support Engineers (DevOps), Solution Architects and Business Users to deliver high quality software and ensure that systems are interoperating correctly once deployed. The Senior Integration Engineer will also use their knowledge of the IT Platforms to help guide the solution and implementation of key features on the platform.

In this role you'll:

  • Deliver high quality software efficiently
  • Provide technical leadership
  • Write high quality, testable and easily maintainable code
  • Develop test classes and automation test scripts to support Quality Assurance activities
  • Perform code reviews and provide feedback to other development team members as required
  • Perform systems maintenance tasks
  • Mentor team members in technical and other aspects of software development
  • Assist Product Owners in turning high-level business requirements into technical tasks and contribute to estimation
  • Work with all internal technical stakeholders (Software Engineers, QA Engineers, Support Engineers, Solutions Architects) to ensure product quality and reliability in production environments
  • Perform Software Development activities in an Agile workflow with Scrum, backlog grooming and retrospectives
  • Stay up to date on technical functionality, new releases and features that are both part of the platform and larger ecosystem. Identify opportunities to leverage those technologies for the betterment of software products and the Ritchie Bros. business
  • Work regular business hours remotely or onsite in Burnaby, BC
  • Be available for on-call after hours support as required and be available for critical production support incidents
  • Lifting moderately weighted computer equipment and peripherals from time to time
  • Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers and customers.

Here's what you bring:

  • Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or related discipline
  • 5+ years developing software in a variety of environments with a focus on Salesforce related integrations
  • Proven ability to influence technical direction, explain technical concepts to non-technical people, work collaboratively with multiple teams, focus on continuous improvement
  • Proven experience with:
    • Leveraging APIs to enable and extend integration endpoints
    • Asynchronous messaging, event-driven systems, pub/sub, message ordering, and error handling/retries
    • Data Modelling and a solid understanding of ETL methodologies
    • Secure integration practices
    • E2E Integration Testing, including API testing, contract testing, performance testing, load testing, etc.
  • Technical experience with
    • Salesforce Patterns e.g. Platform Events and CDC
    • Integration Tooling e.g. Boomi , Enterprise Kafka
    • ERP system integration, particularly with Oracle EBS and Oracle Fusion Cloud
    • Salesforce Data Cloud , including data ingestion from data warehouse (Snowflake,
    • BigQuery), and Marketing Cloud
    • Experience in an Agile, CI/CD Development Environment utilizing
    • Modern CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices
    • Monitoring tools e.g Datadog, Honeycomb
    • Testing Tools e.g. Postman
    • API documentation tools such as OpenAPI, Swagger, Spotlight, etc.
    • AI Analysis & Code Generation e.g. Copilot, Claude
