BCMC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with knowledge and experience in modern backend technology stacks and a history of leading software modernization and maintenance projects.

Clearance: Must be U.S. Citizen to be eligible for DoD Secret security clearance.

Core Work Hours: 7a-4p Monday – Friday, except Government Holidays

Place of Performance: Onsite at the US Capital Building

Certifications: Must be eligible for COMPTIA Security+

Candidates need to have at least five years of relevant experience in the areas described below:

  • Building applications with .NET (C#)
  • Experience developing and maintaining GraphQL APIs
  • Experience working with Postgres and/or MSSQL databases
  • Experience leading development teams as the Senior engineer on projects
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps, Docker (Containers), and CI/CD pipeline implementations
  • Experience working independently and in a team environment, providing guidance to more junior developers on the team
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders and gathering requirements
  • Experience with Legislative Computer Systems (LCS) in the House of Representatives
  • Experience with developing legislative systems and/or working with legislative data
  • Experience building/maintaining system data models/schemas

Strong knowledge and experience with one or more of the following are considered a plus:

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud technologies
  • Experience with MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express, Angular, Node.js) and React.js
