Senior Software EngineerPosition Summary
The Senior Software Engineer designs, develops, tests, and maintains complex software applications and mission systems supporting critical government operations. This role provides technical leadership across the software development lifecycle, guiding architecture decisions, mentoring engineers, and driving implementation of scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions. The Senior Software Engineer supports modern software engineering practices, including DevSecOps, cloud-native development, digital engineering, and AI-enabled development capabilities that accelerate delivery, testing, integration, and mission effectiveness. Working closely with architects, systems engineers, product owners, and government stakeholders, this position helps ensure successful delivery of mission-critical capabilities within complex operational environments.

Key Responsibilities
- · Lead the design, development, integration, testing, and sustainment of complex software applications and mission systems.
- · Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers, promoting engineering excellence and adherence to best practices.
- · Define software architecture, design patterns, and technical approaches that support scalability, security, maintainability, and performance requirements.
- · Collaborate with systems engineers, architects, product owners, and stakeholders to translate mission needs and technical requirements into software solutions.
- · Develop, review, and optimize code while ensuring compliance with secure coding standards and software quality requirements.
- · Lead implementation of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, DevSecOps practices, and software deployment strategies.
- · Support integration of software components, APIs, cloud services, and external systems within complex mission environments.
- · Participate in Agile/Scrum activities, technical reviews, and architecture discussions to support program objectives.
- · Troubleshoot and resolve complex software, integration, and performance issues across development and operational environments.
- · Contribute to digital engineering, software modernization, and AI-enabled development initiatives that improve delivery speed, quality, and mission effectiveness.
Required QualificationsClearance
- Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance is required.
Education
- · Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience
- · 8–12 years of experience in software engineering, application development, or systems software development.
- · Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and deploying enterprise or mission-critical software solutions.
- · Experience leading software development efforts and mentoring junior engineers within Agile development environments.
- · Experience developing software using Java, Python, or similar object-oriented programming languages.
- · Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, microservices, and service-oriented architectures.
- · Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and DevSecOps practices.
- · Experience supporting software integration, deployment, and sustainment activities within complex technical environments.
- · Experience supporting digital engineering, cloud-native development, software modernization, or AI-enabled development initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- · Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, architecture patterns, and secure software development practices.
- · Expertise in Agile software development methodologies and DevSecOps concepts.
