Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Software Engineer will spearhead the development of software solutions in logistics. This position will play a crucial role in shaping the technical direction of projects and ensuring the overall success of software development initiatives within the organization. This individual will leverage their expertise to design, implement, integrate, and maintain systems for efficient processes within the assigned function area (i.e. manufacturing, distribution, finance, etc.). This position will lead and collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to drive innovations.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Lead the design and architecture of complex software systems, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Lead cross-functional and international teams.
  • Collaborate with Executive Leadership Team (ELT), product managers, designers, and other engineers, to deliver cohesive and successful software solutions.
  • Analyze and solve complex technical problems, making decisions that align with project goals and organizational objectives.
  • Communicate technical concepts and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Write high-quality, efficient, and maintainable system requirements to code, often taking a lead role in implementing critical components.
  • Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and knowledge sharing among the team.
  • Effectively manage time and priorities, contributing to project planning, estimation, and successful delivery.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and productive development environment.
  • Implement and advocate for effective testing strategies, ensuring software reliability through unit testing, integration testing, and other quality assurance measures.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, making the codebase understandable and accessible for the team.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree related to information technology, management information systems, and/or supply chain management required; master’s degree preferred.
  • 9+ years of experience in IT supporting manufacturing operations required.
  • Experience with Manhattan Active required.
  • Architecture & Design: Experience translating business requirements into scalable, cloud-native designs aligned with MAWM’s microservices architecture.
  • SCI reporting  Skills to interpret warehouse performance metrics and operational data for decision-making.
  • Warehouse process knowledge.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across IT and operations. Adding training and change management skills.
  • Process Understanding: Deep knowledge of warehouse workflows such as receiving, put-away, wave planning, picking, and shipping to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Testing & Debugging: Unit testing, troubleshooting complex defects, and resolving critical issues in MAWM environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Certifications in APICS, ACSM, Six Sigma preferred. 
  • ProActive framework.
  • Experience in SCI/LM/Slotting.
  • Experience in Phython Programming.
  • Integration and API expertise - NetSuite, eShipping, JDE, other.
  • Performance Tuning: Ability to analyze and improve system performance for efficiency gains.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This job is subject to sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
