We have an outstanding Contract position for a Senior Software Engineer Specialist to join a leading Company located in the Salt Lake City, UT surrounding area.

The Electronic Warfare software engineering organization is seeking a Level 4 Software Engineer focused on system software development for embedded devices and electronic warfare systems. This role leads significant features, integrations, and technical problem-solving across the software development life cycle while working closely with systems engineering, software peers, and program leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong system software experience, sound technical judgment, and the ability to influence technical direction for features or subsystems in support of complex development programs.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop software for embedded devices and systems from requirements through production and support.
  • Lead significant software features, integrations, and technical execution activities across the development life cycle.
  • Work closely with cross-functional team members to develop operational performance requirements, interface software and hardware components, and collaborate on system design.
  • Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and formal testing.
  • Contribute to software test plans, procedures, and other relevant technical documentation.
  • Participate in peer reviews, identify, track, and repair defects.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional engineering team and help define technical direction for features or subsystems.
  • Utilize a variety of software languages and tools on Windows, Linux, and embedded real-time operating systems.
  • Support software bids and proposal inputs in response to customer requests and government requests for proposal.

Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • Bachelor's Degree and min. 6 years of prior relevant experience.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree and +4 years of experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with C++.
  • Experience working with Department of Defense programs.
  • Experience with object-oriented software development using C++.
  • Experience with embedded real-time software development in Linux.
  • Experience with high-performance and multi-threaded programming.
  • Demonstrated depth of knowledge in programming languages, compilers, and application execution.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
