We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Information Technology team.

Location: Chaska, MN & Eden Prairie, MN (Hybrid)

This position will support both our Chaska and Eden Prairie facilities. We offer a flexible hybrid work environment with the opportunity to work remotely 1-2 days per week while maintaining regular onsite collaboration with our teams.

The Senior Software Engineer will contribute to the success of our customers and operations by developing, maintaining, and improving business-critical software applications, databases, mobile applications, and system integrations while supporting the modernization of legacy technology environments.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

(Percentages = priority and approximate time focus)

  1. Design, develop, test, deploy, and support business-critical software applications and system enhancements.
  2. Maintain and improve existing web applications and business processes.
    • Support applications developed in C#, ASP.NET, Classic ASP, VBScript, and related technologies.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, performance issues, and production support incidents.
  3. Design, develop, and support database solutions.
    • Develop and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, and advanced T-SQL queries.
    • Monitor database performance and implement tuning, indexing, and optimization strategies.
  4. Support modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Participate in the migration and modernization of legacy applications and technologies.
    • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, automate activities, and enhance system performance.
  5. Develop and maintain mobile applications and system integrations.
    • Support Android applications utilizing Cordova, Kotlin, Java, and related technologies.
    • Support integrations between web applications, mobile applications, databases, and third-party platforms.
  6. Understand and maintain a culture of "lean action" within the department so that we live lean better than any organization.
    • Implement and maintain standards and processes that eliminate waste.
    • Apply and utilize lean tools to permanently implement improvements.
    • Document and maintain system architecture, technical standards, and technical procedures.
  7. Support infrastructure and deployment activities.
    • Maintain and support IIS, NGINX, and 4D web server environments.
    • Assist with software deployment, maintenance, and business continuity activities.
  8. Provide technical leadership and support.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members, contractors, vendors, and consultants as needed.
    • Participate in project planning, estimation, testing, and implementation activities.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Skill Requirements:

Prior Experience:

This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of professional software engineering experience. Experience developing and supporting enterprise business applications within both modern and legacy technology environments is required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.

Knowledge Requirements:

To be effective, this position requires strong knowledge of software development, database design, application support, and systems integration. Candidates should possess experience with C#, ASP.NET, Microsoft SQL Server, advanced T-SQL development, stored procedures, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.

Experience supporting Classic ASP, VBScript, Android applications, IIS environments, and enterprise application integrations is preferred. Experience with the 4D (4th Dimension) relational database platform is highly desirable.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills are required. The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams is essential.

Licenses and Certifications:

Microsoft, SQL Server, Azure, Android, or related technical certifications are preferred but not required.
