Job description

About Us
Kajabi is in the middle of a once-in-a-decade transformation.
After fifteen years, our founders returned to rebuild Kajabi with the same speed, hunger, and grit that sparked the original movement. We're not a corporate SaaS company trying to play it safe - we're a team of builders rewriting the future of the expert economy.
Millions of people around the world rely on Kajabi to share what they know and change lives because of it. Our Heroes aren't "customers"... they're everyday entrepreneurs using Kajabi to build freedom for themselves and impact for others.
If you want to be part of a company moving fast, raising the bar, and building something that actually matters - welcome in.
To the Engineer We Haven't Met Yet
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us at Kajabi.
The people who use Kajabi are building real businesses. They're creating transformative learning experiences. Showing up for their customers and communities every day. What we ship becomes part of how they do that work. That's the weight of this job, and it's what makes it worth doing.
Our founders just came back to lead the company. The energy is different now. An ambition to take big swings, ship fast, and build something that matters to real people. That's the moment you'd be walking into.
We're obsessed with getting it right. The interaction that feels just right. The moment that makes someone stop and say "wow." Experiences that feel obvious in use. Clear, stable, and thoughtfully composed.
Here's what that actually looks like.
What You'll Do
Kajabi is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team in Irvine, Ca. This is a full time, in-person role at our headquarters. You'll work on a cross-functional product team, owning systems and features that directly impact how thousands of creators build their businesses.
This isn't a heads-down coding role. Senior Software Engineers here are expected to think like product owners, ship like engineers, and use AI tools to do both faster. You'll bring technical judgment into product conversations, shape what gets built and why, and help the team deliver solutions that customers actually value.
The Impact you will make
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable systems and APIs in Ruby on Rails and React.
  • Take ownership of systems end to end including reliability, observability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Use AI coding tools as a core part of how you work, accelerating delivery, prototyping solutions, and writing better code faster.
  • Bring genuine product thinking to the table: engage in discovery, ask questions about user behavior, and help the team make smart trade-offs between customer value and technical complexity.
  • Use data and customer research to inform your technical decisions and advocate for the right solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, and Design; not just during implementation, but during planning and discovery.
  • Lead system design conversations and contribute to architecture decisions that affect your team's long-term direction.
  • Write clean, testable, maintainable code and bring that same standard to your code reviews.
  • Mentor other engineers by sharing context, giving thoughtful feedback, and helping them grow.
Attributes for Success
  • You have strong, hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and Postgres. You're comfortable across the full stack.
  • You use AI tools as a real part of your workflow, not just occasionally. You know how to get the most out of them and you review AI-generated output with the same rigor you'd apply to any other code.
  • You think about what you're building, not just how. You care whether the product actually solves a real problem for real users.
  • You make pragmatic decisions. You're not afraid to push back, but once the team is aligned, you commit and execute.
  • You've shipped and operated features in a high-traffic SaaS environment and understand what it takes to keep systems running well.
  • You're experienced with cloud deployment on AWS, and you're comfortable with supporting infrastructure like Sidekiq, and Redis.
  • You know when to move fast and when to slow down. You understand that bugs in production have real consequences for real people.
  • You can get yourself unstuck most of the time and recognize when it's time to ask for help.
  • You communicate clearly; in code reviews, design discussions, and conversations with non-engineers alike.
  • You're curious and keep learning, especially as AI tools and best practices continue to evolve quickly.
Kajabi Team Benefits Package
  • Competitive full-time salary + bonus
  • Full medical, dental, and vision (company-paid for you + family)
  • 401(k) with 6% match
  • Flexible PTO
  • Fitness + wellness perks
  • Mental health resources
  • In-office lunches, collaboration days, and leadership growth opportunities
How We Work Together
For this role, we expect regular onsite presence at our Irvine, CA office 5 days per week.
If you're not currently located in Irvine, CA , we're glad to provide relocation support for strong candidates who want to join us in person.

In an effort to provide greater transparency, we are sharing the base salary range for this position. Final salary is based on a number of factors including location, travel, relevant prior experience, or particular skills and expertise.
