Position Description:
Designs and develops enterprise-grade financial applications, using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and RESTful APIs deployed in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud. Builds automation pipelines, using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD). Develops and maintains database schemas and backend services, using Oracle and PL/SQL. Builds and supports batch job scheduling, monitoring, and ETL workflows, using Control-M, Quartz Scheduler and Informatica. Implements event-driven architectures, using Apache Kafka and enterprise integration patterns with Apache Camel. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software Applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing full stack Java based Web applications within a financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing full stack Java based Web applications within a financial services environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") designing and implementing Java based enterprise applications and services in AWS Cloud to deliver custom software solutions in support of business operations, using RESTful Web Services, Spring, Angular, Docker, Kubernetes, and SonarQube.
  • DE designing and developing database schema and ORM mappings, using Hibernate, PL/SQL, stored procedures, transactional SQL, and Oracle database; and integrating ETL workflows using Informatica for efficient data processing and batch file routing.
  • DE collaborating with DevOps engineering, and quality assurance (QA) and enterprise level platform automation teams, to automate CI/CD pipelines and ensure quality software delivery, using Junit, Cucumber, Mockito, and Jenkins pipelines.
  • DE developing software engineering solutions using Agile methodologies and JIRA; and providing level 3 production support -- incident management -- to resolve critical issues in production and highly available environments, using ServiceNow; and implementing batch job scheduling, monitoring, and recovery, using Control-M.
