Software Delivery Manager - St. Louis, MO

Location: Herndon, VA, US, 20171 St. Louis, MO, US, 63146

Company: Hubbell Incorporated

Job Overview

We are looking for a Software Delivery Manager to lead a complex, multi-team software program spanning engineering, product, architecture, QA, DevOps, security, and operations. This role is responsible for translating business and platform goals into executable technical programs, aligning multiple teams around architecture, delivery milestones, integration points, and measurable outcomes.

You will drive programs involving platform modernization, cloud infrastructure, data systems, service integration, and large-scale releases. The ideal candidate has enough technical depth to engage credibly with engineering leads on architecture, system dependencies, environments, release readiness, and operational risk, while also maintaining strong program governance and leadership communication.

Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by:

  • Build and maintain integrated technical program plans across multiple teams, including scope, milestones, architecture dependencies, deliverables, environment readiness, and critical path.
  • Drive execution across concurrent engineering workstreams and ensure alignment between software development, platform engineering, product management, architecture, QA, DevOps, and operations.
  • Partner with engineering and architecture leaders to translate high-level objectives into sequenced technical plans, release increments, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Track progress against technical milestones and proactively surface issues related to architecture, integration, environments, performance, security, data migration, or operational readiness.
    • Coordinate across teams to manage architecture dependencies, service integration points, shared platform capabilities, API contracts, and sequencing across releases.
    • Identify technical risks, assumptions, constraints, and blockers, and drive mitigation plans with clear owners, timelines, and decision points.
    • Facilitate cross-functional discussions involving system design trade-offs, environment constraints, non-functional requirements, and implementation readiness.
    • Ensure changes in one component, service, or platform layer are assessed for downstream impact across dependent teams, interfaces, and milestones.
Technical Governance, Readiness & Reporting
  • Prepare concise, accurate program status updates for leadership, including progress against technical milestones, key risks, architectural decisions, dependencies, and decisions needed.
  • Lead technical program reviews, cross-team planning forums, design-readiness checkpoints, and release-governance meetings to maintain transparency and decision velocity.
  • Create and maintain dashboards, dependency trackers, RAID logs, action plans, and readiness artifacts needed to run complex technical programs effectively.
  • Align engineering leaders, product stakeholders, and operational teams around delivery commitments, trade-offs, and go-live criteria.
Release, Environment & Operational Readiness
  • Drive release planning, milestone planning, and major go-live readiness activities for large-scale software initiatives across development, QA, staging, and production environments.
  • Help teams improve delivery predictability by driving clarity on scope, sequencing, entry and exit criteria, testing readiness, deployment dependencies, and rollback considerations.
  • Coordinate readiness across engineering, QA, DevOps, support, and operations to ensure technical, operational, and support handoffs are complete.
  • Continuously improve program delivery practices, technical governance rhythms, and execution templates to support scale, reliability, and consistency.
What will help you thrive in this role?
  • 7+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering program management, or delivery leadership in software development organizations.
  • Demonstrated success managing large, cross-functional technical programs involving multiple engineering teams, complex dependencies, and executive visibility.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, distributed systems, cloud platforms, release management, and engineering execution practices.
  • Ability to engage credibly with engineering leads on architecture, APIs, platform services, environment strategy, non-functional requirements, and technical trade-offs.
  • Proven ability to manage program risks, drive technical decisions to closure, and maintain momentum in ambiguous and fast-changing environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience using structured program management artifacts such as roadmaps, dependency trackers, RAID logs, release plans, and executive status reports.
Preferred
  • Experience managing enterprise-scale platform modernization, cloud migration, data platform, integration, or product transformation programs.
  • Background working closely with software engineering, architecture, QA, DevOps, SRE, security, and product management functions.
  • Familiarity with tools used for software planning and execution such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, CI/CD platforms, and release tracking tools.
  • Technical background in software engineering, systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, or related disciplines.
  • PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum certification, or equivalent program/project management credentials.

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications and will be discussed during the interview process. The salary range for this role is $140,000-$175,000 per year. This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
