ABOUT DAVID MAINES ASSOCIATES

David M. Maines Associates (DMA) is a Pennsylvania-based commercial roofing company with decades of experience delivering quality roofing services to building owners, facility managers, and general contractors. As part of the Skybound Service Partners platform, DMA is building out its Florida operation and needs a business leader who can drive revenue growth, build a high-performing team, and create the client relationships that generate recurring work for years to come.

POSITION SUMMARY

The General Manager is the senior business leader for DMAโ€™s Florida operation. This role owns the full P&L: revenue growth, margin performance, team development, client relationships, and operational execution. The GM is responsible for growing the top line through direct business development and by enabling the sales team, delivering projects profitably, and building the customer loyalty that drives repeat and referral business. This is a leadership role for a commercially-minded operator who can build relationships in the field, hold a team accountable, and drive sustainable business growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Revenue Growth & Business Development
  • Drive top-line revenue growth across service, reroof, and new construction segments
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of commercial opportunities through direct outreach, referrals, and existing client relationships
  • Develop and grow relationships with building owners, facility managers, property management companies, and general contractors
  • Lead the sales process on key accounts and strategic opportunities; support and coach the sales team to close their own pipeline
  • Identify and pursue recurring revenue opportunities: maintenance agreements, preferred vendor arrangements, and multi-site contracts
Client Relationships & Recurring Revenue
  • Serve as the senior relationship owner for DMAโ€™s most important clients in the Florida market
  • Maintain a Customer NPS above 70 through responsiveness, quality delivery, and proactive communication
  • Ensure client escalations, warranty issues, and service concerns are resolved quickly and professionally
  • Create loyalty-driven client programs that turn completed projects into long-term recurring revenue relationships
  • Drive 20%+ year-over-year growth in maintenance agreements and recurring service revenue
Financial Performance & Margin
  • Own the Florida P&L; manage revenue, gross margin, overhead, and EBITDA to budget
  • Partner with the VP of Operations and Service Manager to ensure production margin targets are met on all active projects
  • Monitor and manage financial performance weekly; identify variances and take corrective action in real time
  • Support estimating and sales with pricing strategy, margin discipline, and competitive positioning
Team Building & Operational Leadership
  • Build and lead a high-performing team across sales, production, and service; hire, develop, and hold leaders accountable
  • Establish clear performance expectations, KPIs, and development plans for direct reports
  • Foster a culture of accountability, grit, and continuous improvement across the organization
  • Partner with the VP of Operations and Service Manager on production and service planning, crew capacity, and project delivery
  • Ensure all operations are conducted safely, in compliance with OSHA standards, and in alignment with DMAโ€™s quality standards
Reporting & Collaboration
  • Report directly to the President / Owner; provide weekly updates on revenue, pipeline, margin, and team performance
  • Collaborate with the Skybound platform team on best practices, shared resources, and growth strategy
  • Maintain accurate pipeline forecasts and operational reporting through CRM and project management systems
QUALIFICATIONS Required
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in commercial roofing, including direct responsibility for revenue growth, margin performance, and team development
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth through business development and client relationship management in commercial roofing or construction
  • History of building strong, recurring client relationships with building owners, facility managers, and general contractors
  • Strong financial acumen: experience owning a P&L and delivering results against revenue and margin targets
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop teams in a field-based commercial roofing environment
  • Strong communication and commercial presence: effective with clients, crews, and executive leadership alike
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to travel across the FL territory regularly
Preferred
  • Existing network of commercial relationships in the Central Florida / Tampa Bay market
  • Familiarity with CRM and field service management platforms
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
