Position Summary

Join DN Solutions America as the Senior Service Engineer responsible for the operation, maintenance, and technical excellence of our Chicago Technical Center. In this highly visible role, you'll ensure our state-of-the-art CNC machine tools and automation systems are always demonstration-ready while supporting engineering validation, customer demonstrations, trade shows, turnkey projects, and new technology initiatives.

You'll collaborate with Product Support, Applications Engineering, Factory Engineering, Sales, and executive leadership to deliver exceptional machine performance and showcase the latest manufacturing technology.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced CNC service professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working with advanced machining technologies, and serving as the technical expert for one of North America's premier CNC demonstration facilities.


What You'll DoTechnical Center Operations
  • Own the technical performance, reliability, and readiness of all CNC machine tools and automation systems within the Chicago Technical Center.
  • Develop preventive maintenance programs that maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Maintain showroom-quality machines for customer demonstrations, engineering validation, technical training, and executive events.
  • Manage machine documentation, maintenance history, spare parts inventory, and service tooling.
  • Support facility improvements, equipment planning, machine relocations, and future Technical Center expansion.
Machine Installation & Service
  • Install, commission, level, calibrate, relocate, and decommission CNC machine tools and automation systems.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, spindle, servo, and CNC control systems.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis to ensure long-term equipment reliability.
  • Verify machine geometry, accuracy, calibration, and operational performance.
Upgrades & Continuous Improvement
  • Perform factory-authorized software updates, retrofits, machine upgrades, and engineering change implementations.
  • Install and configure machine options, automation systems, probing packages, and accessories.
  • Identify opportunities to improve machine reliability, maintainability, and overall Technical Center performance.
  • Partner with Factory Engineering to support new product introductions and continuous product improvements.
Customer & Engineering Support
  • Support customer demonstrations, machining trials, turnkey projects, and engineering validation activities.
  • Provide technical expertise during IMTS, open houses, customer events, and trade shows.
  • Collaborate with Applications Engineering to ensure machines consistently deliver exceptional machining performance.
  • Serve as a trusted technical resource for internal teams and customers.
Safety & Quality
  • Maintain compliance with company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure all equipment meets operational, safety, and quality standards.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

What You'll BringRequired Qualifications
  • 5+ years of CNC machine tool service experience.
  • Experience installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining CNC machining centers, turning centers, mill-turn machines, or automation systems.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, spindle, and servo systems.
  • Experience with Fanuc or Siemens CNC controls.
  • Ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and PLC schematics.
  • Strong analytical and root cause troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and passport.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical Center or showroom support experience.
  • Laser calibration, ballbar analysis, and precision machine alignment.
  • Experience with Renishaw, BLUM, or machine probing systems.
  • Automation integration including robotics, pallet systems, and bar feeders.
  • PLC diagnostics and electrical controls.
  • Industry 4.0, machine connectivity, and remote diagnostics.
  • Experience with factory-authorized machine upgrades and retrofit programs.
